Former Mountainhome?
« on: December 02, 2014, 08:41:38 pm »

In year 550, my first expedition of seven dorfs traveled to a desert, trying to rebuild a dead civilization. But unfortunately, there were already an army of goblins there, they attacked my dorfs so I abandoned the fortress. After reclaiming the fortress the goblins were gone, so my second expedition settled there, collected and buried the dead and dug deep. The first migrant wave had a dorf from the first expedition who became the king later. Unfortunately, in 554 my miner released a herd of demons so I had to abandon the fortress.

In 554, my third expedition settled in the same desert and built their fortress(Rackhail), near the previous site. This time things went well and a dwarf from the first expedition arrived as a queen 10 years later(565).

So I checked in Legends mode, after the fortress was abandoned, current queen, former expedition leader, fled and eventually settled in a cave called Tomeabyss along with 4 other dwarves. Some of the dorfs went with the second expedition but at least one of them was still in Tomeabyss and is now a baroness.

Now I'm curious about this Tomeabyss and this dorf. Is it possible to embark there to check? Was the site former mountainhome?

You can only embark on Tomeabyss if it's a dead fortress and not a hill dwarf site. It sounds like the site is still alive, so you won't be able to.

In the legends does it say Tomeabyss was the first site founded by the civilization? If you had Legends Viewer then you'll be able to tell easily which site is your capital.

No it is not a fortress. That is why I'm wondering. It doesn't appear to be capital.
I can locate it in Legends Viewer, but when I try to embark on that location, it's empty, I don't see a cave.
The Viewer also says the population of Tomeabyss is 3, all dorfs. So I guess the site is alive. ::)

If it's not a fortress you can't reclaim it.

OK, I think I can play a human outsider in adventure mode to see what're there.

Well I found the exact location of the cave. ::)
But when I embarked there, it was just a cave. I'm disappointed.
