Kei shows Akemi his working, but whether by chance or by design, his arm is covering the final answers as he shows the worksheet to her.

He proceeds to explain the basics of how to expand the terms in the equations, which then lead to the answers.

It seems Akemi's good for nothing but music.

Kei seems a little disappointed that he can't explain things in simpler terms, but tries again anyway, picking up his pencil.
"Here, lemme show you instead."
He goes for an explanation not involving algebra, using numbers in place of symbols, hoping it's simple enough for Akemi to understand.
