"Can we draw any parallels between how it's described in the passage and what this might, ah, translate to in real life?"

[crazysheep]

"We could, and I think we probably should, but I'm out of ideas for now, I'm afraid."

"Or, you know, Ms. Fushimi might be screwing with us and this passage really just IS a guy trying to make harps out of fish."

[SOLDIER First]

_{"I could very well be overestimating Ms. Fushimi here, but I do not think it's outside the realm of possibility that this passage is supposed to represent how we are supposed to solve our problem, which is the exercise: teamwork."}
A pause.
_{"Minus the whole, um, harp part."}
A longer pause.
_{"Actually, that's fairly obvious, isn't it..?"}

[Adragis]

"Or, you know, Ms. Fushimi might be screwing with us and this passage really just IS a guy trying to make harps out of fish."

Haruka laughs. "You don't seem to understand. The more saccharine and overly deep-sounding our answers are, the higher our marks. School ethics."
Haruka furrows her brow and looks to be concentrating hard.
"Well, in terms of ideas, the fact that overcoming the metaphorical problem entails (in the passage) killing something could well imply some negative connotations. Goah,Gosh, I sound so nerdy."

[crazysheep]

"Well, one could hardly reason with a non-magical fish now, could they? I'm not sure they had better means available of solving this problem amiably for all parties…"

[Rhodus]

"There could be meaning in what he makes in addition to what he makes it from. I mean, a lot of people made weapons out of bone, but instead the hero chooses to make an instrument, which is used to entertain, not to fight"

[crazysheep]

"But bone weapons when he's got a magic sword? I'm not sure that's the direction we want to look in…"
Kei looks confused.

[Rhodus]

Ryu shrugs
"I'm just saying it might have a meaning, that's all"

[crazysheep]

"Yeah, it could, I guess… but we'll need to justify that."

[Rhodus]

Ryu shrugs
"Yeah I suppose we do. You should take what I say with a grain of salt though. Aside from the occasional burst of genius, I'm not as good with literature as I am with math and science"

[Adragis]

"So much for modesty! I can't judge, though."
Haruka pauses for a second.
"You're... Ryu, am I right?"

[Rhodus]

Ryu laughs
"Yes that's me. And I take it that you are" he pauses for a second "Haruka Aoki correct?"

[Adragis]

"Yeah, that's me. Nice to meet you, for what it's worth."
Haruka lapses back into furrowing her brow and thinking.

[Rhodus]

"Nice to meet you too" Ryu leans back, the front legs of his chair lifting off the ground, and sighs. "I was hoping they'd at least go a little easier on us new students, seeing as it's our first day and all."
