Kyo took a long hard moment to try and decipher.
"...right, thanks. I'm not the smartest at this sort of thing, so the explanation really helped."

Ryu takes off his sunglasses and pulls out a glasses wipe, then starts cleaning his glasses.

The machine finally ceases its chatter and Haruka groans, cradling her head in her hands.

Ryu keeps washing his glasses, only half listening to the conversations going on around him.

"Maybe today's assignment is about how to torture readers and listeners with metaphors… in which case, this passage is a good example of it."

"Well, no matter. Analysing this is going to be like trying to put out a fire with my bare hands: painful and inefficient. But enough complaining. Anyone have any ideas about some sort of meaning to this?"
Haruka begins fiddling with her hair.
