Kei turns to look at the source of all that noise as he lines up. He vaguely recognises Sayuri and Rin, as well as Tomomi and Madoka.
Instead of going to hide in his room, he gets his noms and heads over to Yamato.
"Hi, is this seat taken?" Kei points at the seat opposite Yamato's.

"Does it look occupied?" Yamato ask, obviously in a rhetorical sense for no one is sitting in it at the moment. Given who Yamato is it's practically permission for Kei to sit there.

"You're quite the logician, aren't you?" says Kei as he takes a seat.

"I try to be," Yamato replies, taking Kei's comment at face value and not noticing any sarcasm or jokes contained in it.

Kei starts eating his rice.
