Name:  Drak Flyson
Why were you chosen:  Drak's grandfather was a well respected elder in the community, who was seen as a great thinker and contributor.  Four of his five sons are also highly respected hunters and guardians.

The fifth son is Elak, Drak's father.  He is lazy, unhelpful, rude, and does not contribute to the community at all.  Drak, Elak's only child, has lived under this stigma his whole life.  He has always strived to prove his worth, but no one seems willing to give him a chance.  Only Drak's grandfather saw any potential worth in him.

His grandfather's dying wish was for Drak to be given an opportunity to prove himself.  Out of respect for his wisodm, Drak was chosen for the task before him.

Looks good.  Added.

Name: Kallo Kawtu
Why were you chosen: though his lineage is undistinguished and his parentage uncertain, Kallo has ensured his popularity among the people due to his skin diving prowess and his prosperity by occasionally retrieving a pearl or two from the seas - both are meager, naturally, but he felt like he had found a comfortable niche to occupy in society right up until the point his overly proud mother nominated him for heroic duties. Feeling like he would lose far too much face if he refused, Kallo went along with it, knowing full well he was likely to meet a grisly end. Then again, as a skin diver by trade, Kallo was bound to die horribly one way or another, though telling himself this has failed to make him feel any better about it thus far.

Looks good, although you can drop the 'skin' bit as you are a bird.  Added.

I understand a skin diver to be somebody that dives without equipment, and couldn't think of a proper bird euphemism to use for that that also wouldn't sound silly.

Also, why the triple posting?

Got lazy and didn't double quote.  Sorry.

I might put a sheet here if no one else does, but it's not going to be very good.  I'm gonna wait.  Also bump for applicants.

Bumping for this looking interesting and other people should give it a go.

Name: Skylark Sodu

Why they were chosen: She was one of the strongest of her siblings, and learned to fly first. She immediately took to competitive sports and helped the colony gather food. Her father was killed by a runner, and she took to training to hone her fighting skills. She apprenticed with a weaver to learn some skills to pass on to the heavenly realm. Vowed to avenge her father, she worked to prove her mirth to the elders.

Name: Khaal the Incredibly Old

Why they were chosen:  Wisdom.  Intelligence.  Incredible oldness.  These were the qualities possessed by the respected triumvirate of elders that had advised the community for generations.  Two of the elders (one being quite wise and the other quite intelligent) realized that this whole summoning business would be rather dangerous.  They also knew, however, that at least one of them would be expected to attend, and thus decided to offload the task on Khaal the Incredibly Old.

The last elder may be a bird neither wise nor intelligent, but he does have more wrinkles than ought to be strictly possible and can spit into a spittoon from a distance of twenty feet.  What more could the world ask for?

I'd like to see a wrinkled seagull.

Well, birds do have skin (though usually of course it is obscured by feathers), so imagine a completely disgusting, featherless old seagull with tiny folds of skin all over its body.

It sounds... reasonably possible I guess?  Alternatively he could simply be so old that he defies our current understanding of the laws of nature.

Looks good, although that might be an autocomplete issue with 'mirth' there.

Should be fine, although I do have to wonder how you guessed that 'intelligence' and 'wisdom' are actually modeled in this system..

Anyway, sheets are up in the OP, let me know if you would like a different ability.  First turn should be around this time tomorrow.

Any chance I could get my ability renamed to "Unproven?"  The Useless Sod was his father, really.  Drak is merely untested.

No actual function is fine, though.

Doah, misread your sheet.  Ah, well, that's why to ask for confirmation.  Are you okay with your new ability?
