I'd be far more terrified of the dabbling gelder, he sounds like a dick.

Heh, 'the dabbling gelder'... that's a tavern name right there.

So gelding wouldn't actually make selective breeding work, gotcha.

smeeprocket, still happy about that new gelding update?  ;D

but someone just said it does work. :?.

The ability to geld cats makes it worth it alone, tbh. :P

It definitely works. I kept only strong males around, no changes in children being fat or weak or not. Kept only the strongest females, and I mostly got strong children. This was with dogs and grizzlies.

Am I misreading something? The first sentence sort of explains it. I didn't read that as the males not mattering and only the females because if both the males and females were strong, then it would not have been tested as to whether or not only one gender had an effect.

I should clarify: that's basically what happened. Butcher all the tough male bears, left the weak ones. Kept the strong females, butchered the weak. Got strong babies. Did the opposite procedure, and I got fat, weak baby dogs that all have the same colour of fur.

ahh interesting. So the males are irrelevant.

Hmm I'm going to mess with this myself.

Either way, I am enjoying gelding. Also the no spores thing.

It's the random pets that come with migrants that I do the most gelding on.

Speaking of which, I played this as a mutator for Unreal Tournament before. Fun, but much more difficult since I was equally vulnerable. And considering the chances of bot inaccuracy, I died alot from this. It was nuts. It takes balls to play this against godlikes.

EDIT:
You may require EZ_UMOD in order to install it.

Not too bad. You don't geld animals all the time. You can just let him hunt most of the time.

I think you might have missed the point. XD He's a professional gelder with a good aim. So with one well placed arrow... he can geld from a distance!

Let him lose on elves and goblins alike! 8D

... I guess the rpg was a bit loosely based on the comics. I never remember any of that in them.

So there are genetics but it's only from the female, no crossover with the male, gotcha.

That suggests a good war animal breeding system: keep a couple of the weakest males around as "studs" in a pasture with the strongest breeding females.

Geld all other males, and make them and all excess females as your war animals.

Build an amazonian master race of war animals. I like this...
