I'm so glad I'm not on that mission.

You seem to be lucky at avoiding missions with chryssalids, aren't you?

I don't think I even know what a Chryssalid is.

I'm not sure my character knows, either...

The original X-com, or U.F.O., depending upon where you were, had an opponent named cryssalid, which was known for crossing half the map, killing one of your soldiers, then having that soldier attack you, and just as you think that dumping all of your ammunition on the cryssalid has saved you, your former solder explodes into a cryssalid and converts your whole team in a matter of seconds while some random psychic on the far side of the planet is looking through its eyes and making your rookies think that cleaning each other's gun barrels with their tongues while polishing their triggers in the middle of a melee is the latest and most reputable(not to mention immune to all forms of innuendo) form of weapon maintenance.

I think that Xcom may have some sort of small children who are wearing foam Godzilla claws that like to assault your soldiers with harsh language...

They're aliens who love hugs, actually. You just have to let them get close and enjoy snuggles.

Whelp, I got plenty of kills, but no promotion, oh well... And yikes four days even with the reduction, that'll smart...

Hrmm, my rank is just LT now, even though I was, what, a corpsral? Does the officer thing overwrite your old class?

Spoiler: Operation Crystal Star (click to show/hide)

Spoiler: Soldiers (click to show/hide)

With that taken care of, we need to decide how we're going to proceed. We have enough money for two more Interceptors, and might be able to scrape together enough for a third. Are we going North America, Europe, or South America?

@RAM: Yeah, you now have rank based on your Officer Rank. So it goes Lieutenant 1, 2, 3, etc. Until we unlock the next level of Officers, at which point if you've gone on at least 5 missions as a Lieutenant I can promote you to Captain.

@Toaster: I'm not trying to kill you, I just find Engineers really useful on difficult missions.

That's why we need MECs. :3
PUNCH THEM AWAY D:
(Defense Europe, is my vote).

Also I've to agree on Engineers being solidly useful on difficult missions--especially in the LW Impossible difficulty ._.
Every. Grenade. Counts.

Especially given that Engineers have an ability to use the Arc Projector multiple times (instead of that Foundry upgrade we're all used to), as well as repairing SHIVs with that AP.

I figured it's like that; it's just funny that I end up on all the nasties.  Also, 11 kills?  Get me packmaster!

Especially given that Engineers have an ability to use the Arc Projector multiple times

Don't encourage him.  d=

An early capture like Beagle did for Alium grenades would be good.

I'll go for... Ranger. Boost that damage output.

Having Toaster capture everything is my vote.

Noes!

The sad thing is that Suppression and Ranger aren't really much for engies, so Repair becomes the logical choice.

Toaster, we appreciate your sacrifice. Now take this taser and go stun that giant, raging alien.

Godspeed.
