Guardian Mecs can't revive troops, far as I recall.

Some Soldier updates

An urgent message comes in from the Council

It seems a member of the Triad has acquired some alien technology, and it offering it to X-COM for Asylum. Interesting.

With our new laser weapons just a few hours away from being finished, I order Engineering get them combat ready while the troops are assembled. If the aliens are after this item in force, we'll need all the firepower we can get!

With the laser weapons available, the team is outfitted and sent to bring back our new friend...and the alien tech.

I'll take the other German gunner then. Giselle Krauss will take up the banner of her brave sister.

My guy seemed to perform quite well on this mission, which is nice.

Unfortunately, we lost a good operative.

This is a funny picture. Guy in a suit with a briefcase is met by the Skittle Squad.

I haven't done any of the Slingshot DLC in Long War. I think they're supposed to be one of the harder missions to deal with.

I really hate how Zeng has a gun, that can one-shoot sectoids, but drop it off right before you control it.

Opportunist! Do I qualify for officer now? This is the last chance to stop me calling dibs... Not that I really know what I would do with leadership. The fatigue looks like sadness and I dunno, would I want to try to aim for teaching the rookies instead of joining the main team?

P.S.
I am not certain that you can be on overwatch when you flush, so while opportunist no doubt has loads of synergy with flush, that synergy may not actually exist if they are both on the same soldier...

More Soldier updates

Both Rickenbacker and Villiams are eligable for Officer

I'm going to have an NPC Officer (Van Doorne) specced for training up rookies, so you don't have to worry about that. You guys are mainly for major missions.

Speaking of which, I ordered two more rookies since we've had some losses.

Rickenbacker doesn't have Flush, so I assume he's talking about having her on overwatch to shoot a flushed alien as it moves, which Opportunist does work with.

Why does my guy keep shooting his Marksman's rifle one handed? >_>
Is that the crit animation or something?

That's the regular animation for sniper rifles. They're bracing the sniper rifle against their forearm. I don't know how effective that is in real life but it looks cool. Except when they miss. Then they just look ridiculous.

It's also annoying on overwatch since everything on overwatch happens in super slo-mo and the sniper animation is actually forever.

The only way I can see that kind of shooting technique being useful is if you were in a massively cramped area.
It truly does look ridiculous though...

What, you can't skip the animation?

Wow, Negative defence, I feel so special!

Dibs on officer!
Unless we want to hold elections for officer or something like that...
