haha I would say... accomplished.

Watching the first video, some advice. You can set a zone with "i" to gather fruit, you could make a stepladder for it but they will also gather fruit from the ground, giving you more stuff to brew with.

Instead of making barrels, you can make rock pots and conserve your wood (though once you have the axe no big deal I suppose.) Rock pots are a bit heavier but hold more. Jet ones are the same weight as wood. The weight versus contents ratio is better for pots also. Plus, you always end up with tons of stone.

you have a really resource rich area. I think fire clay is one of the better ones, and you have sand. Chalk is a fluxstrone so I hope you find iron. Then you can make steel. ^___^

Also, you will be able to make an underground farm in the clay rather than breach the caverns I think. Or you could use a pond designation above the underground plot (make sure the above part is underground also, to make mud and have your farm for plump helmets and such.

I just remembered that you didn't bring seeds so of course and underground farm is impossible.

You also have a source of fresh water. And the platypus and ostriches can be captured, tamed and placed on chains with nest boxes to produce eggs.

Also, you can milk horses, I don't know if you ended up killing them are not but I keep female animals only so I can have milk (they don't have to be pregnant)

And if mods are reading, maybe you can move this thread to appropriate section. Thanks.

In the bottom left corner, next to "Lock Thread", there should be a "Move" button.

man, Dwarf Therapist does so many things I didn't know about. I barely even use it. I work mostly through the in game interface.

Wow, that's a lot of great ideas. I had no idea about stepladders at all.
Thanks a lot!

Dwarf Therapist is a great tool, once I've tried it I can't play DF without it.

Just don't chop down the trees in your gather fruit area.

I've been attacked by elves without war declaration, right after elf caravan left. They seems to be happy after trading, I didn't sell them any wood made items.
I've never seen elves attack without provocations before. Is this a new feature?
Another weird thing, they seems trap-avoid, and dodge or block 99% bolts my dwarfs shot at them!
I have no mods and didn't edit any RAWs.
Anyone seen such things?
