Has anyone ever made a map of earth in DF?

It wasn't the whole Earth, but I remember a screenshot that someone made of a world that they created with help of the Perfect Worldgen (or something like that) utility, It had Europe, North Africa, the Near East (Mediterranean coast) and the Black Sea region.

Yeah someone has done it before in the Fallout mod. It was a full Earth, except in the apocalypse setting.

If I knew how to make those, I'd be making one for DF 2014.

This does work in 0.40.xx (in fact, it should be possible to have north and south poles now).

There was a typo in the siegers' campfire code. When the fires went out, so did the game.

I also recall somebody making a map of North America.

That does not appear to be very accurate. But, it will have to do I suppose.

Yeah, I used that one for a while. It's why I wanted a map of the whole world.

I've never seen a whole earth map, but I have seen these fantastic continent maps by Shagomir that work with 0.40.x

I remember there was one particularly accurate map of Europe a while ago. Of course, particularly accurate in worldgen terms means that rivers roughly ran where they should.

Which is kinda bonkers, seeing as the rivers are set up by the program itself. Its weather model is accurate enough to predict where rivers lie.

I uploaded one. It was from 40.13, but maybe it can be used in other versions.

The spoiler bbcode didn't work on dffd?

Well actually it doesn't have the mediterranean, for some reason. Maybe df consider it a basin.
Still need some extra fine-tune.

So... if you want to make your own?

Get yourself a greyscale 8-bit heightmap, and PerfectWorld.

Have fun!
