The Golden Sun, and TGS: The Lost Age.
Grew up playing Golden Sun, what's TGS though?
final fantasy tactics 1.3
Big fan of FFT, I'm not very good at it though! I'm stuck on this one level that I won't tell you what it is so people don't give me tips. :>
Both Oddworld games on PS1 are good.
I played the original Abe's Odyssey on PC and loved it. One of my favorite games of all time.
Evo: The Search for Eden
Shin Megami Tensei
Suikoden 2
Live a Live
Valkyrie Profile
Legend of Mana
I've played that one a long time ago, that game was way cool.
I've played quite a few SMT games and I just can't get into it. I'm having a hard time finishing P4G as well because the dungeons just get so repetitive. I love messing around in the overworld though, that's awesome.
I've been playing through that one, I've found it interesting so far.
I'll try it!
I'll give that one a shot, that sounds badass.
I need to pick that one up again and finish it.
Chaos Seed
SRW
If you've yet to do ogre battle, go do ogre battle. SNES or PSX version, whatever. Bahamut Lagoon, perhaps. The langrisser games... they're on both the SNES and the PSX, iirc, and fantranz'd over the years.
Chaos World, Hiouden
Stuff
Oriental Blue
Sylvan Tale
Doin' it.
Are you kidding? I'm a huge mecha fan, I've made FGs using my cumulative knowledge of UC Gundam. You insult me with your insolence!! O:< ... Actually I haven't played one yet.. :S ;-; I've been trying super hard to get my hands on one though. D:
I've already played all the Ogre Battle games, I have an LP of the GBA one on my YT account. To be honest I found them all meh compared to FFT, though I respect them as it's ancestors.
Will try.
I've played Front Mission 3, the other FM games I'm not really interested in. Emerald Dragon, Monstania, Gun Hazard and Ancient Magic I'll try, but those are on the back burner until I finish my Final Fantasy marathon.
Dragon Warriors Monsters is fucking awesome, I've had that cartridge since I was a little kid. I recommend that game to anyone who can lay their hands on it, epic game I tell you.
I might, I'm not very familiar with the gamegear.
Snes: i would recommend Seikendensetsu 3 its basically secret of mana 3 (theres english version.). also im curious is there secret of mana 2? cause i have not found it.
Seikendenetsu 3 is Secret of Mana 2. And Seikendenetsu 2 is just Secret of Mana.
It's weird how things released outside of Japan is numbered differently. But I suppose it kind of makes sense.
Need to try those at some point.
Mother 3 for GBA. If you haven't played that, go play it. You will need the fan translation patch. Great story, humor, and the turn-based combat is also rhythm-based. many hours of fun.
I'll try to get that one.
Brain Lord - a SNES RPG that didn't get as much recognition as it should have. Great puzzles.
Resident Evil 2 - the peak of the series, in my opinion.
Earthbound - Another SNES RPG, very quirky.
Suikoden - PSX RPG, 'epic' without being pretentious.
Heart of Darkness - PSX platformer. Short, but fun gameplay. Made by the same guy as Another World/Out of this World
Legacy of Kain - Soul Reaver - Third person action adventure for the PSX. Best in the series, IMHO.
By the way, I remember recommending Wizardry V to you in another thread; did you ever get anywhere with it?
Will try.
I've played RE0/4/5/6 and Revelations. I really really want to try the classics.
Course I've heard of Earthbound. :3 Played it once at a buddy's place, really liked it, want to pick that up again some time.
I have Suikoden 2. Is there any reason why I should regress?
It's freaking Abe's Odyssey so I'm into it. I've seen the game played through so many times that I'm not interested in giving it a shot myself. Very cool game, though I think Abe's Odyssey is better.
Legacy of Kain reminds me of MediEvil so I really want to try it.
I played Wizardry 1 first, it was so obtuse I couldn't stand it. XD Reminds me of playing Phantasy Star 2 without the manual, I still can't believe I beat that game. I'll definitely give V a try though.
Super Metroid.
I have all the good ones for GBA but I just can't get into it. I had a lot of fun with Metroid Prime 1 and 2 though.
- Super Mario World
- Shadowrun
- Super Metroid
- Chronotrigger
- Final Fantasy 6 (or 3 american, numbering is a bit weird)
- Act Raiser
- Zelda: Link to the Past
- Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars
Have it!
Played it! It's really confusing, need to try again with more wiki magic.
Played it!
Played ittt!
I have all the FF games and I'm trying to beat them in order.
Never heard of this, will try.
Same deal as FF except I'm not concerned about the order.
I'm loathe to try this after playing through Paper Mario, one of the most epic games of all time. I haven't heard good things about SMRPG.
-snip-
I've played or own allll of those.
Should be noted that I have all the 2D Castlevania games.
Figured I'd mention some of the other big names on Gameboy Advance just in case:
Couple games each of:
Fire Emblem (Some were Japan only but you can pick up ENG translation patches for roms)
Legend of Zelda
Metroid
Advance Wars
Kirby
Megaman
Smaller Titles for GBA that haven't been mentioned yet
Sigma Star Saga was pretty fun.
Sword of Mana was really cool, and had two whole stories in it (one for the hero, one for the heroine)
Not interested in GBA Megaman, I've played Advance Wars to death and I'm currently doing an S-rank playthrough on AW2, I'm in the process of completing all the FE, Zelda and Kirby games.
I'll try Sigma, played Sword of Mana.
You should try Medievil and PS1. Also Abe's Oddysee plus it's sequels.
All the below are for the SNES, however I think it would be very difficult finding actual copies of these games which are not roms.
b]Secret of Mana[/b] for the SNES was a great game back in the day, as well as Secret of Mana 2. And Chrono Trigger as well but I recommend the DS version.
You could go for Secret of Evermore, think of it as an americanized verison of Secret of Mana.
Hmm.. what else.. Actraiser was pretty good (The sequel kind of removed features from the original.).
Soulblazer is also a decent game.
Grew up with MediEvil and Abe's. Not interested in the other Odyssey titles.
I've seen playthroughs of Soulblazer and Actraiser, they seemed pretty cool.
