Do creatures not explode into bits anymore?
« on: November 22, 2014, 01:52:40 pm »

I remember in a previous version it was possible to send a dwarf, animal, or whatever into a wall hard enough for it to explode into pieces but that doesn't seem to happen anymore. Was that removed from the game?

I'm not sure but maybe bodies are tougher now or that mechanic has been replaced by pulping.

Bones and flesh are much, much stronger now.

Do a test at the arena. Get a bronze colossus and a fluffy kitty. Control the BC and throw the kitty at a wall. Tell us the result.

Amusingly enough, I was just conducting some unrelated minecart experiments and a dwarf wandered into the path of a very fast-traveling iron cart. The cart impact only bruised his fat, but it also drove him into a gabbro wall with some impressive velocity. I can confirm that a powerful enough impact will blow a dwarf into several pieces (he lost all 4 limbs and his head).

They indeed simple got thougher. Nowdaways you need to have a 34 level droppit instead of 12+ to have a effective garantee of insta-dismemberage of every invader you throw down there.

Anyone remember these? Because that totally reminded me of them.

(for the unfamiliar, push the button in the chest and all the limbs + head pop off)
