Contact the author, ask him to change download into buy now -> problem solved. If he responds with snark, then you can write him off as an asshole.

It's entirely possible the author may feel him/herself too busy working on the game to tinker with the website.  Wouldn't fault an author for that.

Aha, found it!

I saw today's mention of this game on RPS and I knew I saw a thread for this game in here somewhere. Yeah, I want to throw some money at this, maybe even full price! I bought Space Colony awhile back, I should probably play that first though.

Anyone else have a chance to play this, thoughts?

I did. I enjoy it as a coffee breaker. The gameplay is nice but a bit repetitive, also managing shop inventory is a bit annoying.
I summed up my thoughts in the first post review.

The new version added an essential feature: people advance when out of range automatically, which improved mission gameplay a lot.

a huge expansion is coming up 7th July, and apparently owner of the old game will receive it for free in their library

If you own The Spatials before the 5th you will get Galactology automatically added to your Steam library on or around the release date (I will try to make it a bit earlier). You don't need to do anything on your side.

Seems contradictory to your previous post and the store page itself. It claims that you'll get the expansion for free if you purchased the original on or before July 5. It is not yet July 5.
