"What would be the detriment of just breaking the tile open and pumping acid into the hole?"

The tile is about a foot wide, and square.

"You want that thing to jump out while we dump the acid? We'll try to pump it in through the crack, and see how that goes."

Staff begin to fix a pump to the crack by cementing the rim of the tube to the pane and then connect the pump to a large vat of Sulfuric acid. [2] The pump begins to run, but nothing runs through the crack despite the machine's best effort. One of the workers comments.
"Looks like the crack is internal. The surface hasn't been breached."

"Is the acid powerful enough to melt through the tile within a reasonable timeframe? Also probably should have the workers get on suits."

"Tiles are a company trade secret. The stuff's impervious to most corrosive agents. Except one, but that's also a secret, and we don't have large quantities of it on hand, although we could try and synthesize a batch."
"Hmm... gather the ingredients together, but don't start synthesizing it yet. There might be another way."

Now that I have disabled him, I need to find out what the bio-hazard is. I should intimidate him, but not reveal that I know of the contamination, at least for now.

WARDEN set is voice filter down to the lowest possible setting, then proceeded to speak. "YOU ARE UNDER ARREST. YOU HAVE BEEN CAUGHT PREFORMING A CRIME. STATE YOUR NAME AND PURPOSE. YOU WILL COMPLY."

WARDEN set is voice filter down to the lowest possible setting, then proceeded to speak. "YOU ARE UNDER ARREST. YOU HAVE BEEN CAUGHT PREFORMING A CRIME. STATE YOUR NAME AND PURPOSE. YOU WILL COMPLY."

"I.. what. What did I do? I just came for a meeting with the chief of staff. I needed to get a research proposal signed."

[5] A security guard runs up to you and the target, but stands by and watches. The target continues.

"Here, the name's Alan Walker, I'm an administrator here."

He holds out a badge. You take the badge in one leg, maintaining your grip on the target's limbs. Then, you scan through the information on the ID card. Your pattern recognition software immediately recognizes a discrepancy: A single column of pixels just on the side of the facial portrait, tinted just a shade below the rest of the white background on the portrait. Clearly shopped!

"Is the biomass of the blob likely to be capable of climbing to the ceiling?"

The doctor glances at the blob, which has by now consolidated its matter and is a solid, opaque orange mass. It is also rapidly bending and forming pseudopodes with which to throw the guards around. The guards have tried to shoot it a couple of times, but there are no wounds to speak of on the blob.
"Not sure, but perhaps we shouldn't come to conclusions. It might be full of surprises. One wrong move and it forces the workers away while climbing out, and then it'll spill out everywhere."

One worker, previously standing by, raises his hand until called upon.
"Um, can't we just pour acid in through the vacuum pump?"

...

"That... is... a good... idea... why haven't I thought of that? Just disconnect the storage tank on the depressurizing system and pump acid backwards through the whole thing. Get to it!"

The workers begin climbing to the top of the chamber and loosening the bolts on the vacuum pump and its storage tanks. It is then brought down and one of the tanks is removed, then plugged right away using the acid pump.

The pump starts to force the acid into the chamber, causing it to slowly build up. On contact, the blob turns teal, but becomes sessile and stops moving. Eventually, the entire blob is submerged beneath a meter of water, forced down by the guards who no longer have to deal with being tossed around, and are now simply swimming in a vat of acid.

"Has anyone checked on the water treatment facility?"

"No, but it can't hurt to check. Crawford, go get Maintenance to run a sweep at Alpha Complex. Maybe the others if you can convince them."

The token crewman runs off to a quiet place to use his smartphone, never to be seen again during the mission.

The acid begins to start sputtering out of the nozzle as the supply runs out. The majority of blob mass is beneath the surface of the acid, while the guards are sitting atop it.

"Alright, lets take some of the top tiles off and pull out the guards. I don't know if we'll be able to remove the blob without locking down the whole laboratory."

...

Checkups are close to finishing, showing no signs of infection among the remaining store residents. Some of them show severe distaste at what has become of the original victims.

In response to Akatin, Atlos says "Yes, we probably should stay back. This is rather serious."

The paramedics conclude that this isn't their job.

"Get a biohazard team ready. Also, bring someone to see what's in the water. Looks like it killed all the fish and... got two people stuck in the biomass."

The other paramedic shouts, but before he can help, the first paramedic (the one that was speaking) feels a tug on his leg, falling down. It turns out that the fishpile-double citizen-combo had crawled over to his leg and pulled on him, and is now inching toward the water.
The other paramedic grabs the first one and pulls him free while the fishpile drags the two citizens back into the water.

"The hell was that? Why'd they grab me?"
"I don't know! Wipe your leg, there's some gunk stuck to it."

...

Eventually the biohazard team arrives with a team of henchmen wearing hazmat suits. They begin the process of taking water samples and looking at them under portable microscopes. One of them veers a little too close to the water, and ends up falling in the water while out of everyone's sight. The others gather around the site where he fell, but some back away afterwards.

"I always thought keeping bio-experiments on a heavily populated station was a terrible idea. I don't know if this was some maligned act of treason or a grave accident, but I do know that something is afoot."
He leans toward the door.
"Let's go, the station fellows have more than enough tools to deal with it. More than we do. Now, what was your mission again? I can help. If it has anything to do with stealing research data, I know my way around. It's just a good thing the eyeplants didn't get out, now those are tricky to deal with."

The door beckons. Just outside, the familiar zebra-clocked stranger walks by, along with an entourage of SpaceInc businessmen and officials. You hear their conversation, since they seem to have stopped relatively close.

Employee 1: If the perimeter is being broken we really have to send more units.
Employee 2: It'll strain our resources quite a bit. First the rebellion, next this breach. Our drone force is already reeling from the last breach. I think we need to step up security protocols.
Stranger: Yeah I'm sorry for that... but it's important if we don't want to threaten thousands of lives on this station.
Employee 3: It is indeed a conundrum. And the annual bloom is just about to start.
Employee 2: Gah! This will be a PR nightmare!
Employee 1: Not if we can keep the lack of drones, the breach, the the aerofauna, and anything else that happens out of public eyes.
Employee 4: Ministry of Propaganda's gonna have a rough day...

Over the comms, Atlos speaks. "It appears to be some sort of bio-agent after all, though it appears to require an aqueous environment for transmission. Is this similar to the one you two observed?"

To Akatin he says, "Hop on. This unit can go faster than either of us can walk. I fear it may be poor form to speak of the mission, but as I've probably revealed too much already, we're here to sabotage something."

Attach a RADAR unit (from my inventory) to him somehow, then hand him over to the guard. Run to a corner as if on patrol, then when the guard stops paying attention, slip into a maintenance shaft.

Moravia Orbital Colony, Ulysses | 237d/3008AD | Von Hapsburg System

Megacity Time: 8:11

Maintenance Worker's Lounge
Quiet (+1 Intellect, -1 Stealth)

Deuce continues to monitor the cameras to see when his time to strike will be.

[4] You gather some basic observations.

Firstly, the rebellion is intensifying. The police in the mall have been overrun and rebels are occupying stores, picking up loose containers to use as protection and looting yard equipment stores for weapons. The reasoning behind yard equipment stores on a space station eludes you, but the bottom line is, the rebels are now armed and dangerous. However, rather than an organized mob, the mall is now littered with small groups, some taking advantage of the disruption to loot stores for themselves, while others reserve their wrath for police robots and luxury restaurants.

Speaking of robots, you figure you could control one from your laptop, provided nobody else gets a lock on it. There are three bots still active in the mall. One is currently being controlled by an officer, and heading toward the police station, and another is currently damaged and standing by, awaiting repairs. The third one is currently on patrol and is fighting several civilians hacking at it with garden hoes and pickaxes. Using its long legs for sweeping attacks on the troublemakers, it seems to be winning.

Next, there seems to be some commotion in the headquarters. Using your phone's retinal projector, you run some Guild software that relays the positions of your team. You also set some facial recognition software to highlight all faces on said map, allowing you to track the movements of guards around your teammates, should anything bad occur which would require some coordination.

Judging from crowd movements, something has caused people to move away from a particular coffee shop near one of the tram stations. Switching to camera feed, you discover a ring-shaped alien, or perhaps a machine of some sort, coated in some orange, translucent gel. It is darting from table to table, rolling onto and absorbing meals, drinks, and possessions left behind by those in flight. You spot it absorbing a phone.

You discover a store with a neighboring clinic. The store itself seems to have been cleared of customers, who are lined up and being searched by guards at a security checkpoint. There are scorch marks scattered across the walls of the store.
Inside the clinic, there seem to be guards inside a large tank of acid, along with a mass of a thick turquoise substance at the bottom of the chamber. Several persons in haz-mat suits are watching over the situation.

You also have access to secure feeds from the laboratory. Here you look through several of the containment units, finding some empty while others contain various specimens:
-A potted plant with spherical white flowers. It is kept in a cold environment with lots of water droplets on the camera moving in one direction, probably being blown off by a heater.
-A chimpanzee. It appears to be dead.
-An incredibly bright object suspended inside a tube of clear liquid, constantly evaporating around the pinpoint of light. The chamber appears to be a vault covered in a reflective material.
-A vine with fine, sharp leaves and a noticeable cyan tint. It has many thorns on its stems and is covering the room on all surfaces except for the light hanging at the center of the chamber ceiling. Even the door of the containment unit is covered.

...

Headquarters, Floor 3
Professional Atmosphere (+1 Intellect)

Over the comms, Atlos speaks. "It appears to be some sort of bio-agent after all, though it appears to require an aqueous environment for transmission. Is this similar to the one you two observed?"

To Akatin he says, "Hop on. This unit can go faster than either of us can walk. I fear it may be poor form to speak of the mission, but as I've probably revealed too much already, we're here to sabotage something."

"Run to the halls!"

Leaving the gardens, you discover that a crowd of people has fled from a coffee shop named Jill's. Through the glass windows you see a ringed orange object rolling around on the tables of its own accord and absorbing food left on the tables.

The group of SpaceInc'ers discussing security notice the affair, and propose they move to a more quiet location. They shall be moving to one of the open-window bars that grants a direct view of the gas giant through a massive window. One of them briefly mentions seeing "them" through the window, but none of them specify what "they" are, let alone asks for clarification.

Akatin speaks, knowing that Rtalis clicks and screeches won't attract much attention even if heard through the pressure suit's skin.
"Sabotage you say? Paid by a competitor, most likely. Tell me, how did a Rtalis, of all possible races, become an infiltrator? I don't mean to dissuade you, but... the environment really doesn't suit us very well, pardon the unintentional pun. Okay, maybe it was intentional..."

It seems that there isn't widespread knowledge of the contamination. Perhaps it would be prudent to spread awareness.

Maintenance Shafts
Hidden (+1 Stealth)

"...OBJECTION!" WARDEN slams the suspect against the ground, then continues, "THERE IS A DISCREPANCY WITH THE PORTRAIT ON THIS ID. IT IS CLEARLY FALSIFIED. YOU HAVE BEEN CAUGHT TRESPASSING ON SpaceInc. PROPERTY. YOU HAVE BEEN CAUGHT ON CAMERA DURING YOUR ATTEMPTED SABOTAGE, AND THERE IS SUFFICIENT EVIDENCE TO BRING ADDITIONAL CHARGES OF MURDER, PROPERTY DAMAGE, IMPERSONATING A SpaceInc. EMPLOYEE AND JAYWALKING."

Attach a RADAR unit (from my inventory) to him somehow, then hand him over to the guard. Run to a corner as if on patrol, then when the guard stops paying attention, slip into a maintenance shaft.

[3] Slipping the radar unit, a sharp stick the size of a pencil, inside the target's shoe, you relinquish possession of the suspect to the guard whilst hiding the Emcor inside a department you refer to, publicly, as the "Confiscation Bin."

"RESUMING PATROLS." you state, maintaining the guise of a soulless automaton for as long as possible before slipping out of sight and looking for another maintenance shaft entrance. You find one, just behind a couch. Said couch is part of a large alcove roughly 8 meters in diameter, furnished with three large sofas around a giant chess board. Galactic residents of all stripes take turns playing a Spacechess succession game, wherein each competitor inherits the board from the last player. So far it seems that a Corvan has just maneuvered his battleship into a disadvantageous position, but little does his opponent realize that he has set up a very realistic kill on the enemy command vessel, if his successor is to follow through with the plan.

To sneak into the shaft, you will have to first remove the covering plate. [1] Unfortunately it is secured by padlock, and zapping the lock while surrounded by bystanders will definitely attract attention.

The radar unit appears to be moving, but stops after a certain point not too far from your current position. It no longer exhibits oscillatory movement from walking, which means the target is sitting down, probably in a police station. Curiously, said police station is located right in the middle of a population center. You recall various maps of the structure you've seen on the wall, and pinpoint the current location to... a bathroom.

...

Moravia Lab
High Security (-1 Stealth)

"May I recommend taking inventory of all potentially dangerous diseases stored in the lab? See if everything's still there?"

"This is exactly what our assistant researchers are supposed to do as part of their job descriptions. We've been checking for tampering since we discovered the breach."

The workers use a crowbar to remove the top layers of the glass chamber. They then lower a rope over the edge, allowing half of the guards to climb out. While the third guard approaches the rope, you notice one side of the blob leaning closely to one side of the chamber, a sign that it is still capable of locomotion.

[1/6] Before you can speak up, the blob manages to launch a mass upward, just over the edge. The mass sheds its protective teal-colored outer layer and releases a spider-like unit, which scuttles up the wall and forces its way into the ventilation shaft. Meanwhile there is a sizzling noise as acid pours into the breach left in the blob's matter and dissolves more of its mass.
