Abandonware at its finest (if I'm using it right).

Here's the url:
http://www.asciisector.net/

It's a roguelike without no-save. And you can fly around a large(ish?) (but sadly limited) group of star systems selling gems, food, crops, crap, or weed. You can also rob merchants, rob fleets (if you don't die), or rob pirates, board their ships and kidnap their passengers, then "use" said passengers to train your melee skills. Everything you need to know's in the site, except for the fact that nobody's working on it anymore.

You are not. Abandonware is a term for software that has not been released for free, but would not (actually or practically) be challanged by the copyright holder (for example if they went bankrupt.) Abandonware is gateway piracy (not that that's a bad thing ;D) and as such talk of it is discouraged on these boards.
(well actually, I'm wrong and Abandonware can be released for free, it can have any licensing, in fact, the point being that it won't be enforced. ASCII sector however is not really abandoned, and there's a remake planned but not currently being worked on.
...As you already know, since I'm actually getting that factoid out of your conversation with Knudsen. Small world.)

Luckily ASCII Sector is freeware. freeware for which a thread already exists.
