Bert winced. Well. It had been a... good-ish... run for poor Ken, but that was game.

Athena climbed to her feet as she saw the card that the shop keeper had returned, she let out a sigh. This was all over for the poor boy, one more turn would do it.

Jason cursed silently under his breath as the attack sent Grapha to the Graveyard and caused him damage. "Very well. Anything else for your turn?" He asked, keeping himself calm and trying to think of a way to get rid of Arcana Knight Joker.

"I play a facedown, then end my turn.  Before you draw, I activate Gift Card, reducing your life points to zero."

As your disk reached zero and the holograms faded, the elder commented, "While you weren't able to do well enough to get the card, I'll be holding onto it for you.  You show potential."

Looking behind her, and seeing who the duelists were in Jason's duel, she continued, "You may want to watch that one.  I know who one of the duelists is and there's something...special in their deck that you may want to see."

When you look at your devices, you see the first went up by 12% maximum, the second went up by 17% maximum, the third went up by 3% maximum.

Ken nods, putting his cards back into his deck as he turned to watch Jason's duel. "Sounds fine to me.... But.... After that, could you point me towards Mr. Taylor's old residence? I want to see if I can glean anything from it."

Athena rose to her feet and walked over to Ken,
"Better luck next time"

((I'm guessing I drew Deck Devastation, not Deck Destruction, right?))

"I'll activate Grapha's effect to Special Summon him in Defense position and I'll set two face down cards. That will be all for my turn." Jason remarks, returning Renge to his hand to summon Grapha again, then setting Renge in defense and setting Dark Smog down in his spell/trap zone.

He nods and looks to his devices. "I got a pretty good charge, so it's not all bad. Besides, it's shown me I need some magic countering..."

Athena smiled slightly,
"Yeah that's a good idea, she really cornered you"

"Maybe I'll pick some up when I've done a bit around here... The prices drop if you're useful, she said."

"That's a good idea, hopefully we'll find something to do"

He nods, and pulls up a seat to watch his ally's duel.

Bert gave Ken a companionable pat on the shoulder, with a look of sympathy, then glanced thoughtfully at the other duel, evaluating the game, and commenting idly towards the shopkeep. "Mm... Arcana Knight? I haven't seen that in a very long time, but it's not reliable enough to build a deck around, I'd think... Is the special thing you mentioned to Ken here that interesting? I was thinking I might challenge you myself, I'd like to see more of that Nurse Burn build you have there, but it's always nice to see a deck with a special trick..."
