Anton sheds his gear in the barracks and heads off to take a shower. He washes the blood from his hands and face and thinks about those he failed to save over the years.

Mordeci laid back in the infirmary bed.
"I think we should look at their armor. Because seriously, we need some of that ourselves."

Andy shook his head as the away team limped back in.  Clearly there was much for them to still learn about these foes... and *clearly* they needed better armor.

Emma gave a short nod to the comment about the Aliens being monsters, while drinking some water. "Monsters, Aliens.. All that matters to me that they die. Clearly though, they're tough, considering the condition you all came back in."

Hermann walks into the base, his heavy duffel bag on his shoulder.

"What, you're discussing research? Weapons Fragment is the way to go. We're here to save Earth, not our skin, and a nice body armor vest won't save a civilian threatened by an aliens. A shot will."

Anton looks at Hermann and frowns. And if we are dead, zen what? Hm? Who will take ze shot? Ze gendarme? He scoffs. If we die, zen no one is saved. Ze simple, unpleasant fact is zat our lives are worth more zan zeirs.. He takes a drag and gestures at the new guy. Well don't just stand zeir, comment tu t'appelles?

A faint look of disgust crossed Andy's face.  "Worth less?  We are soldiers!  We are here to defend the innocent!  There's no question of worth, here.  It's our duty to stand for those who can't stand for themselves.  If we die, so be it."
