Ok. I can build 4 as I am a democrat and a industrious man.

Will redo my turn. Thanks for telling me.

Move 28 to 27. Move 30 to 31. Move 29 to 28

Build fortifications on 28 and 27. Build a port on 31.

The best way to make friends here is to drop the soap during shower time. Try it, I'm sure you'll love making friends like that!

Indeed, you can build 4, my bad.

Citing the need to secure their northern border, Arluenese troops take over the newly Scandinavian caucasus, in one more step of whats the Parisian chattering classes call the drôle de guerre[/i]. Meanwhile, fortifications are erected on the Arluenese border while the port of Jaffa in Palestine is extended to accommodate warships.[/i]

While civil war raged in the East, the Spanish Empire decided to restore a bit of its glory. A division of mounted infantry crossed the Pyrenees to occupy Provence. Soon the whole province of Provence was in their hands, and a network of trenches and firing positions was established in the alps, based on their experience of mountain engineering.

Back home, the old port of Valencia was turned into an industrial complex, ready to give birth to steely Leviathans to support the war.

The State of Prussia cannot idly watch as our ally, Russian Empire, tumbles in warfare and chaos, and thusly war is declared against Scandinavian government.

((Arr.  Occurs to me I should have gotten a railroad up front so I could build another HQ in the front this turn.  Guess I'll have to wait another turn for the "3 up 2 back" HQ spread.))

The Ottoman Sultanate issued a general statement decrying the violence that was breaking out in the far north.  Rumors spread that the Sultan was secretly disappointed in the poor transportation networks in Upper Thrace that prevented him from taking personal advantage of the turmoil...

The channel surveying in West Anatolia continued; no definite site for modern port systems had been selected.

Army Movement

2x 34 -> 32
1x 39 -> 40
1x 35 -> 39

Construction

HQ in 32
Academy in 38 and 40

Russian Empire is proud to present the great state of Prussia with Northern Denmark so that they may have a matched set. Three cheers for national reunification.

The government of The State of East Prussia expresses gratitude for the act of kindness from Russian Empire. Hopefully one day we shall repay your kindness with our own brand.

((Haspen, you need to learn how to backstab. You could have taken 4 provinces including 2 HQs! Ok, maybe that's just my inner shifty bastard showing.))

State of Eastern Prussia

A Prussian Army Corp was dispatched to the border to support the Russian Czar in the Eastern Civil War, seizing Northern Germany. While some disputed the military use of such a move, others pointed out that not invading Russia was in and of itself a great act of support. A military HQ was established in Pomerania to supervise the take over.

Ottoman Sultanate

The Sultan, wanting a piece of the Russian cake, ordered his Janissaries north, but without railroads they got stuck in the mud of Romania. Meanwhile, a new HQ and academies were established.

Russian Empire

After their defeat on the Norwegian shores, the Russian soldiers were in no mood to face the wrath of the Scandinavians, and they were content to seize an empty HQ and the defenceless capital of the Northmen. Norway and St Petersburg Oblast, sick of that weird war, swore fealty to the Czar, while Nils Jakobson and his government retreated to Iceland. Finally, Denmark was granted to Eastern Prussia as a token of thanks for its support during the war.

Republic of Southern Europa

Vowing to defeat the crafty Spanish, President Rom Kinley sent his legions assaulting Provence across the Alps, like a modern-day reverse Hannibal.

Code: (First Battle of Provence) [Select]
5-1 v. 6+3
Southern army destroyed!
2-1 v. 4+3
Southern army destroyed!
6-1 v. 5+3
Southern army destroyed!
5-1 v. 5+3
Southern army destroyed!
Spanish victory!

Halas, their artillery stuck behind them, trying to assault fortified moutaintops, the Italians soldiers are killed to a man. Admitting finally that attack would not work, the Southern Europeans retreat to Italy and start digging fortifications of their own.

March 1900 - Turn 3

Empire Français
A new HQ is established in Hungary.

Meanwhile, in Brest harbour, a new ship, the
Crainsrien is unveiled. Powered by steam turbine, with an all-big-gun armament, the Crainsrien is bigger, faster, more heavily armed and armoured than any other ship afloat. Truly, a new era of shipbuilding has started.

As Academies popped up over the English countryside to drag Albion kicking into the 20th century, a huge mass of steel, bristling with guns was sliding in the water off Edinburgh.

Just to make things clear: since #4 touch both the North Sea and the Norwegian Sea, the fleet can go to either of those. Also, unlike armies, fleets can share a sea province with fleets of country they are at peace with.
