Actions continue against the dying Arluenese state. Cyprus is occupied by a contingent of janissaries, while Jerusalem once more answer to the Sultan. However, the sailors in Jaffa, seing the Turkish army approaching, set sails to confront the Ottomans in one last blaze of glory.

Code: [Select]
5 v. 2+1
Ottoman fleet sunk.
Arluen wins the battle.

Having nothing to loose the sleek Arab ship throw itself at the heavy Turkish leviathan, cleaving its heavy hull with its mighty prow.

To the north, a detachment is sent to snatch the Caucasus before Russia can occupy it.

Finally, a network of universities in Greece and Crete is established to help research flying machine. Thanks to Europe's best research institutions, it is estimated that prototypes should be ready by the end of the month.

The problem the French empire faces right now, is that it has too many problems to effectively handle at once.

Handing over control of 52 would allow Albionese engineers to construct defensive fortifications, allowing Imperial legions to fortify the Prussian border. The installations in Switzerland could be utilized more effectively by our scientists, freeing up the French noblesse to lead the imperial armies.

At the same time, Albionese war factories are sitting idle. Giving us direct control of the proposed provinces would allow us to deploy a multitude of forces in defense of the empire.

Note :
- What happened to my accepted proposal for a research treaty with Prussia? To be added at turn's end?

So in effect, by loosing our provinces to Albion, we would be sure not to loose them to Prussia? Is that the best you can offer? We are perfectly able to fortify Morrocca ourselves. All considered, we think Albion's energies would be better spent trying to attack Holland or Denmark.

(Yeah, I have a least of "to do treaties" to be added at turns' end. Were I to input them directly into the spreadsheet, it would update all the RP/Turn, and make updating the turn a PITA)

At this moment, there are 4 areas that need to be reinforced. These are 52, 69, 41, 81. The Imperial engineers can never be everywhere at once.

And the French Armee know just as well as I do that a direct assault on either Denmark or Holland is a folly which can only end in disaster.

Our only hope to quel this uprising is organize our supply lines as efficiently as possible, in order to overwhelm the enemy defenses.

Prussia is overrun with Russian troops!
Sadly not the invading kind.

The Russian people have had enough. You have let our capital be taken by Scandinavian troops, refused our trade offers, openly mocked our offers to help as "angry letters" and let's not forget your dear old grandfather burned Moscow to the ground. Now you ask us to attack a peaceful people, who have not fired a single shot at either of us? That is, as you say, 'le strauix final'. French rule is hereby abolished in The East.
Well, north-east. But I invite the Ottomans to join us in this endeavor as allies

The Icelandic PM

"Ehhhh....if I side with Russia, they'll conquer everything, and invade me last. If I side with France...actually, France is fine with not invading me."

Iceland answers the French call to arms, and politely requests an alliance with Albion.

A more suprising request might be to turn-over control of the African coast, Luxembourgh and the Swiss research facilities. The resources there are currently not effectivelly utilized, and we believe that a medium to long term adminstration change could be very beneficial to the war effort. (3 extra armies immediatly available).

The State of Prussia would like to point that territories of Switzerland and Luxembourg are Germanic by culture and the tradition, therefore, Prussia is putting down a claim on these lands and will seize them no matter their current owner.

Albion will once again repeat it's offer, but add that it will can not hope to win a hopeless battle. In these dire situations, the emperor might have to sell half his empire  to safe the other half. (Actually, it's less than a quarter. Huge bargain.)

Nevertheless, we will not betray the French empire, though we will be unable to aid against the Eastern menace.

Diplomacy:
- Trade Explosives for diesel with France
- Alliance with Scandinavia

Like a great wave, the Russian armies start marching westward, toward the Imperial Border.

Okay, so in case a province defended by armies from several countries (like Silesia) is attacked, I'll roll to know the order in which the armies will defend the province.

So yeah, my grandfather died last friday, and was cremated yesterday. It game me a sense of closure, and I finally have the time and energy to update. So here you go.

Republic of Southern Europa

Armies are moved around while the Southern Fleet sails off into the sea.

Turn 6 - June 1900

Empire Français

The war against the Spanish rebels continue. Armed with new, better artillery, the French division once more attempt to storm Madrid from Portugal.

Code: (Second Battle of Madrid) [Select]
5+1 v. 4+4

French Army destroyed.

Alas, gallantry is no match for a solid wall and troopers bolstered by secret police units. Seeing this, the French Navy moves in troops to hold Portugal and Morocco, before attempting to break into the Western Meditteranean.

Code: (Battle of Gibraltar) [Select]
5+1 v. 5+2

French fleet sunk.

On the Eastern Front, to Bavarian division attempt to strike Prussian Pomerania.
Code: (Battle of Pomerania) [Select]
2+1 v. 6+2

French Army destroyed.

1+1 v. 4+2

French Army destroyed.

But the Empire had no luck. The old revolutionary calendar's name for June war Messidor, and it seems a mess for France this June is.

Fortifications are established in Morocco, but the engineer corp that was dispatched to build fortifications in Pomerania was decimated in the fighting.

Albion reluctantly agrees.

Use the Albionese Norwegian Sea fleet, move one division to Oslo from Iceland. Request Explosive Shells from France.
IIRC, fleets can only be used once per month. Mine might actually be in use.

Valencia (#62) is handed over to Spain in exchange for Modern Chemistry. Albion now has Modern Chemistry, and Valencia will be handed over to Spain as soon as no Albionese army is present in #62.
