"I doubt they want us for ransom. Most of us wouldn't be worth much anyways. And the only sure way to rid yourself of an enemy like her, one who continues to follow you, is to finish them. As nice as it would be for us to be able to come to a peaceful solution, I don't see that happening."

Jesseo gripped her staff and ensured her bowgun was ready to draw at such a close range.

"I got your back, Luc. I'm just right behind you. Don't worry. I'll be there for you."

She looked onto the line of pirates across the ship-made channel, and saw their insignia and motley garb. Domirian sailors, pretty much not pirates, but she was conflicted on the line to even wonder why a hired...assassin? or maybe lover to Ethan (in a random thought altogether), would go to such lengths to stop him and his crew.

The idea of the...stone(?) he held in the monastery also brought note. Did he have it even when she and Lucrezia was hired? And how did anyone else detect such?

Questions popped up: she would ask an allied mage to-...scry the area. Or that's how she saw it anyway. Maybe they were actually a target only seen by specific and talented others.
