Jesseo nudged Stheno, given their closeness.
"Look, between me and you--I'm trusting you here. That girl? Lucrezia? She's an awesome person--don't tell her that I'm making a puppet of my own. I could try and make you one, too, if you want."

"Oh, no thank you, I only thought it was cute because she seems so shy that she's using the puppet as a proxy. I would be too embarrassed to be seen carrying a puppet around myself. Are you all this enthusiastic about toys?"

[Sirus]

: "Well...no." The nun held her arms away from her body to remind the mage that she was almost entirely covered up. "This outfit might have been used as a way to control initiates, but it has a practical side as well."

[Tiruin]

"Oh, no thank you, I only thought it was cute because she seems so shy that she's using the puppet as a proxy. I would be too embarrassed to be seen carrying a puppet around myself. Are you all this enthusiastic about toys?"

"Shh-hh, lower your voice! I don't want Lucrezia to know. It's a surprise!"

She glanced to the side and saw a ladybug ascend to the apex of a blade of grass before looking back at Stheno, raising a hand and flexing it by the wrist. "And...its not really a toy, even if-well, I get that it can be seen as a toy, its just that-...Um, long story. I'll just note that its a really important thing to her. Not really just a proxy. Also, all puppets I make are in their own tiny pouches, strapped easily to the belt. I'll get to that later on.."

[Ochita]

Elanore grumbled, and as if by magic, some more sand fell from her hood.
: "Then be glad that you hadn't got any sand stuck in your clothing. It's really uncomfortable, let me tell you. I'm gonna need to thoroughly wash these out at the next town.."
She also noticed Stetho and Jesseo talking, something about puppets.
: "Hey, if you haven't noticed. We're against enemies, now is not the time to be talking about such silly things. When we can sit down and not be stabbed, thats when we can talk about toys, not now."

[Glowcat]

Stheno forced herself to smile in an effort to calm the stranger. "I see. You can tell me about it later."

Beryn might have been right about them after all. We seem to have stumbled upon a puppet cult.

Jesseo gave a half-hearted smile in return. There was something off about her voice--something she learned...while in isolation in fending for herself. Subtlety in body language, though...it was nearly indistinct; she hung onto assumption instead.

It must be the brevity. Yes.

"Al-alright..." she said, not breaking eye contact, but leaning back on her horse. "Just-Hey, sorry for being abrupt and all. I just want to stick up for a friend."

She exhaled and turned around to check for Stheno's attackers, with a weight forming on her chest. Was she being awkward again?

Elanore was somewwhat surprised by the priest tending to her wounds, but she soon chuckled.
: "Healing me already? It seems as though your response time has considerably improved."

[Swordstar]

"Well, last battle I was a little worried about Luc, because she'd been severely wounded and then... well, in all the confusion and going inside and such, I... I must have missed you. I am sorry about that."

[Ochita]

Elanore's smile remained, though it faded at the ends, and her eyes stopped looking happy.
: "I know that I am not a priest, but you need to be aware of everyone in the group. I understand that me and Luc and the others are new, but by this point you shouldn't be forgetting about us. Just a piece of friendly advice."

[Swordstar]

"No, it's not... I partially assumed that Jesseo would be taking care of some of the wounded and I also, well... That whole thing wasn't exactly the most comfortable experience for me. I was dealing with some pretty crappy memories and so just... acting semi-normal was a bit of an effort. It's not a good reason, I know, but it's all I have."

[Ochita]

Elanore stopped giving a cold glare at Cetus, and sighed.
: "I understood that you definitely had some beef with that place, though I didn't learn that it featured the old gods before... That event. I have some pretty bad memories myself, of the old gods and the religious orders under them. I guess what I'm saying is, I understand."
