Cetus found the bones of a wyvern and some human ones sticking out of the sand. He could swear he saw a glint of some metal, but after brief search he couldn't see any items around.

As Lucrezia trudged up the rocky slope, Jesseo reined in her horse and pulled back a few feet.

"I've taken a cursory glance past these palm trees and they're at least aware that we're arriving. Got any good plans?  Because this path, I believe, leads to that place we heard the bells. If I'm not mistaken--that's why the enemy isn't charging down at us, what with the advantage of height and all.

"They're waiting for something up there, and I'm unsure if we can handle them right now. What do you th-um, you two think?"

She nodded at Lady Rose, with a smile.

Barry turned to the archer before continuing with the desert walk.

: Oi, shooty lad, I 'aven't seen ya before. What's yer name?

Alister adjusts his radio translator which dictates to him the language of the natives. He will ace this confrontation.

: "Alister, what? Week past, come Solstice, I land round ere, what? Take up at the inn, with her primitive cookings, but there she is. What's you?"

: ...Wha?

: Anyways, I'm Barry. That over dere is the cap'n. Are ya a merc or militia?

Then Barry turned to Ethan and yelled at his general direction.

: Oi, cap'n! Waddaya say aboot this one? He sounds a tad plastered, but he's a crackshot! He's the one who shot that bowbitch's eye oot back dere!

Something must've been off about Alister's translator. It was turning all this "Barry" fellow's words into gobbledygook. "Over dere?" "Plastered?" "Crackshot?" This was like another language entirely.

Alister wound the PRIMITIVE VERNACULAR DIAL to MAXIMUM.

: "*AHEM* Overmany communes hither. Grip yor aex and tarry not."

Nailed it.

Lucrezia looked slightly upset at being ignored by Glenn. Sure, she wasn't the loudest, but there was no need to be rude and ignore her.

Oh! Jo had asked her a question!

"We have a spear. If they're like the other bandits, they'll have axes, and their height will probably make up for the longer reach of my spear. They might chop through it. I'd have to be careful.

It'd probably be better if you helped maybe the Captain or Mr Glenn. I'd probably be useless..."

Fer coughed lightly-- he WAS there.
:"I, for one, think we should probably wait a couple of seconds until the others catch up."

"No Alicia, you might not. Especially that Barry just got us another swordarm. Err, bow arm."

"[...]I'd probably be useless..."
Jesseo spun around on her horse and gave Luc a nice :I look.

"Everyone has a use here--and yours is no less than anyone else. If you can't find your spear to be effective...think your way out. There's always an alternative path to the goal, where I see it."

Now if only there was an alternative path to the monastery from here. Gah, it looks so steep!

Elanore coughed, she was also there, and also closer to the bandits.
: "We wait, and if it gets bad we retreat. I'm not gonna risk dying for a measly 100 gold."

Hold position!

Lucrezia looked slightly upset at being ignored by Glenn. Sure, she wasn't the loudest, but there was no need to be rude and ignore her.
Seemingly lost in thought over something, Glenn suddenly spoke up.
"Oh, forgive me, miss Lucrezia. Good to meet you as well, I suppose."
"We have a spear. If they're like the other bandits, they'll have axes, and their height will probably make up for the longer reach of my spear. They might chop through it. I'd have to be careful.

It'd probably be better if you helped maybe the Captain or Mr Glenn. I'd probably be useless..."

"I can imagine the wooden shaft of a spear would be vulnerable to weaponry, yes. Are you this group's tactician, by chance?"
