"Excuse me...I was just wondering, if we're going on with the quest, we'll all be together right?"

"Hmm? Whatcha mean, Jess?"

Jesseo returned Lucrezia's smile.

"Hmm? Whatcha mean, Jess?"

"More of a passing thought...I just don't want to be alone. Um, nevermind that."

"Well, no, I don't think we're splittin' up or anything like that."

[GiglameshDespair]

"..."
"I-is something w-wrong, Jo?"

Fer put his books back with a smile.
:"I'm glad you're staying with us, Amberly."

[Tiruin]

"Well..."

Jesseo lowered her voice even more--judging its loudness by how loud it seemed to her.

"Talking with Amberly and the idea of family had me thinking. The tea probably helped but-...for the longest time, I haven't enjoyed as much and been happy as much since being, um, 'hired'. It's like family--even with the total lack of insistence in being paid."

[SeriousConcentrate]

Beryn had a good laugh at that.

"Hell, I ain't being paid either Jess!"

"But I don't care. This is a real one of a kind adventure, know what I mean? Getting to do all this is reward enough. It's a good fight, with good company. I don't want to be anywhere else."

He put his arm around Lucrezia's shoulders and relaxed, leaning back in his chair and resting his left ankle on his right knee.

"I wouldn't give any of this - or any of y'all - up for nothin'."

[Tiruin]

"I was paid a hundred coins for the first trip. Then I lost count--the Captain pays better in other ways, just as I remember he kept his promise to you in your words."

"I'm in. As long as you keep me up in weapons and food, I don't give a damn about personal pay. This is too good an opportunity to pass up."

"But I am very comforted by your words. Glad to have--to be friends with you two. You all."

[SeriousConcentrate]

Beryn waved off the quoting.

"I know, I remember. I was just pointin' out that this kind of thing is beyond money, y'know? How many opportunities come along to save the world and be a real hero?"

"Anyway, have a biscuit! They're pretty good, and we're probably going to have to go back to rations again so we might as well enjoy 'em while we got 'em!"

He finished his cup of tea and got another.

[GiglameshDespair]

"..."
"It's s-still very s-strange, t-to t-think that we're involved w-with this s-sort of t-thing. I-I would n-never have t-thought... it's k-kind of s-scary, but..." She trailed off. "I-I'm n-not really s-suited for b-being a h-hero, I d-don't think, b-but I'll d-do my b-best. And you t-two are here."

[Tiruin]

Jesseo gave Lucrezia a big, silent hug.

"Nobody who was ever a true hero felt like a hero. They just kept on sticking to their goals and upheld what good they knew. So said my dad."

[SeriousConcentrate]

"Hey. Anyone can be a hero if they try. Don't let nobody tell you otherwise, Luce."

[GiglameshDespair]

Luc hugged Jesseo back.
"..."
"I-I'm glad I meet y-you. B-both of you."

Exactly 32 minutes and 16 seconds after the food'ing and tea'ing started, although some might perceive it was a month or so, Margaret clunked with her foot.

"I believe we have all necessary business here accomplished?"

"I think so?" Ethan looked toward his crew and then drank the rest of his tea.
