Elanore walked over to the conversation, plate of food in hand, though it was mostly meat.
  "You know I wonder how they keep the-" She stopped when she saw the baurus puppet.
  "Ohhh, hey. Is that a puppet of wolfie here? You know, to really get his likeness, you have to act as though everyone else is tiny when you speak, or t least, that's the impression I get from him." Elanore joked, nudging Barry with her elbow.

[Haspen]

Suddenly, the whole vessel began to hum and vibrate.

Margaret was gone from the room, too!

Then her voice came out from a corner of the ceiling: "This is your Hydro-G captain speaking! We will be launching very soon! The weather is sunny with just a small breeze. Please do not venture to the outside deck while the system is powering up, thank you!"

[GiglameshDespair]

"..."
"Noo, t-there's n-no way I c-c-could s-sing."
She was relieved when Elanore walked up, and nodded.

"Mm! I-I c-can't really d-do the voi-"
And then Margaret talked.

Lucrezia looked around for the source of the voice at the corner. Could Margaret be able to do ventriloquism, too?

: "I feel like...perhaps we should all be sitting down for this."

The nun sank into the nearest thing that looked like a chair and tried to brace herself.

Elanore's poke and disembodied voice eventually contributed to confusing Barry.

: Who what now?

: I'll 'ave to ask Maggie aboot that voice trick so all of ye can hear my LOUDNESS!

"Very interesting, all this technology. We can all learn more if we knew how these all worked."

Jesseo also sat down right near Amberly and Luc.

[Haspen]

WWWWWWFFFFOOOOOOOOWWSSSHHH! Was the general sound of the machine as it suddenly departed.

A short while later the island was but a faint shape on the horizon behind the alien vessel...

~~Chapter 9A: Home Sweet Home~~

Upon the conversation with Abbess, the party decided to have a quick two-day trip to House of Scholars...

...BWWOOOOOSSSHFFRPPLrlrlpfffff was the sound that Hydro-G made when Margaret parked it in middle of a desert, after announcing that the vessel is perfectly capable of traversing on sand.

"We're approximately one kilometer south-east from House of Scholars! All that's left is a little trek through the desert between us and them!" Margaret pushed on the main door of the vessel and it gave way with a hiss, allowing the hot air and the shine of golden sand assault the travelers so used to salty sea air.

[Solymr]

: Aw, not the bloody desert again. Can't ya park in front of the door?

[GiglameshDespair]

Lucrezia squinted at the sun shining off the sands.
"..."
"I-it's b-bright... s-still, w-we're s-so close already. A-amazing..."

[Haspen]

"The sand thickness is not adequate further on. I don't want Hydro-G to accidentally cause earthquakes."

[SeriousConcentrate]

Beryn groaned at the thought of traversing the desert.

"Great... I'm going to melt by the time we get there."

He led Prata off the Hydro-G and, already feeling miserable, mounted the wyvern.

"Relax guys, Cetus can fix any sunburns we get out there in the boiling sands." Aiesha pointedly ignored the idea that their vessel could possibly cause earthquakes.

[GiglameshDespair]

"!"
"O-oh! B-Beryn! C-can I m-maybe... _{r-ride up there w-with you? I d-don't w-want to g-get s-sand in my b-boots a-again...}"

[SeriousConcentrate]

"Sure thing, darlin'. Hop on."

Prata knelt, and Beryn leaned over with a hand extended to help pull Lucrezia up.

"T-t-thank you."
She took his hand to be helped up, and couldn't help but smile. She was going to fly again!
