[Sirus]

: "Well...okay then. Let me speak to the House of Scholars." She didn't sound terribly convinced.

[Haspen]

"As you wish." Demura turned towards the giant floating map and his image got a bit fuzzy for a moment.

The map have changed shape into much smaller rectangle filled with white and black and grey meshy fluid that was making hissing noise.

"Hmm, their side must have the camera either deactivated or destroyed. This will be voice only I'm afraid." There was a bit more hissing before the fuzzy greyish mess turned into pitch black void and then-

<sub>"...what the heck did you touch!? How many times do I have to tell you bloody bastards not to push any buttons when you're cleaning the dust!"

"I swear to Old Gods that I didn't touch a button!"

"And why are those lights blinking! Stop staring and fetch me the manual!"</sub> There were two loud but soft clonks afterwards.

_{"Hello! Is this communications device working? And who's on the other side? Identify yourself please!"} Demura looked at Amberly and waved his hand toward the black void.

[Sirus]

Hesitatingly, the nun stepped up to the console and spoke to the air.

: "C-can you hear me, Lady Abbess? This is Amberly."

[Haspen]

_{"Amberly?? Is that you?? My goodness, where are you? Wait, are you operating the machines on your own?? What did I tell you about fiddling with machinery! Are you allright though, and did you find Demura?}

[Sirus]

: "No, I...we found Demura. He's helping me with these machines. It's a bit of a long story...and things are much stranger than I would have thought."

[Haspen]

_{"But that apocalyptic coming of the other Old Gods have been averted, right? Or do you want to pass some bad news upon me which I certainly won't like?"}

[Sirus]

: "No, I'm afraid we're still working on that. Demura tells us that we need to go to other facilities left behind by the Old Gods in order to find more of their technology. As for news...well it's pretty world-shaking."

Not knowing how long the conversation could be maintained, Amberly gave a quick summary about how the Old Gods were actually humans from another world.

[Haspen]

There was a loooong moment of silence after the summary was ended.

_{"Oh dear. So it's been as the old data log said, huh. I should go on more reading binge. Speaking of technology! Could you visit us one day or another? We have found some kind of a Old Gods' device that could possibly be a weapon so I think it could be of better use for you?"}

"What kind of device?" Demura's interest was picqued.

_{"And who's that??"}

"I am who you call Demura, basically."

_{"You are an Old God?"}

"Well, yes."

_{"Apologies if I sound unconvinced, you have voice of a shy schoolboy."}

"..."

_{"Ha! You got told, eh? Well back to the device, it looks like a wand if it was partially curved like a crescent moon, with a top side a little bit bulbous."}

"Does it have four buttons and a spike-like protrusion in front?"

_"Indeed!"

"Then it's a phasor, a hand-held multi-use weapon of much power. Is it working?"

_{"...now that you told me its a weapon, like hell I'm going to play around with it! I will put it in a box and if you want it checked, be my guest and come here yourself!"}

"I think Amberly and her friends can come over. It will be much easier that way. I will send my helper to check if the phasor is useable."

_{"Oh, is Amberly coming home then?"}

[Sirus]

: "I suppose I am."

[Haspen]

_{"That's good! It's been almost three weeks since you left, and you didn't bring any books with yourself, I'm worried about your studies and so forth! Also some younger acolytes miss you much. I guess one way or another you will be coming home!"}

[GiglameshDespair]

"..."
"S-so w-we're h-heading back to the t-tomb of D-demura now?"

Being quiet and meek was a strong point of Jesseo. Lucrezia was someone she shared that with--and she was happy while listening to everyone else speaking. Even Lady Rose! Everyone's vocabulary sounded pretty florid at times. She was filled with determination at how far her mercenary contract has come.

I don't really understand some of their words. I should've read up the Old Gods and-...

"I'm excited for the trip. Aren't you, Luc?"

[Haspen]

Ethan gets Iron Axe!
Baurus gets Autocannon!
Party gains Hydro-G!

Some ghostly silence and lack of player activity later...

"And that's how you operate it." Margaret passed the huge lug of metal with four tubes at one side to Baurus.

"I will contact you if I manage to do anything of note."

Then Margaret took Guardians of Galaxy Ethan's team through corridors and tranporting lines to something that was unmistakenly a seaside cave.

With half the walls covered in metal plating.

At a small dock, there was something truly indescribable. It was like a very sleek, flat boat shaped vessel made with red metal, and the hull was sitting on six thick legs which themselves were connected at the 'feet' with a red metal circle. It was truly an alien vehicle.

"Pity nothing faster is currently in working condition, but this will have to do."

"How do we steer it? How do we enter, for that matter?" Margaret looked at Ethan, then at the 'boat', and she made two beeps. A small part of the vessel's metallic hull slid sideways and a long, thin metal ramp descended toward the dock.

"Okay." Ethan looked at the boat while Margaret already made her way up the ramp.
