Beryn put his hand on Lucrezia's shoulder.

I'm so glad that my ability to handle a crisis meets with your approval, Elanore, Amberly thought but did not say. She was too tired to get into a spat with the shamaness right now.

: "Miss Margaret, where is this tower that DeMurray told us about? Is it on this island?"

"_{T-this... t-this is... I'm s-scared. A-at what w-we have to d-do.}"

Beryn gave Lucrezia a small smile and put his hands on her shoulders.

"Hey now, look here. I understand. This is really heavy business, and that's always scary. But it's all of us against them, right? Ain't all on one person's shoulders, this way. And tell you what... You get too scared, you can hold my hand. I'll be there for ya."

"Y-yeah..."
She trailed off, looking up at Beryn.

Beryn returned her gaze, his eyes seemingly searching hers. After a moment of apparent indecision, he moved his left hand to her chin, tilted her face up, and gave her a gentle kiss on the lips before taking a small step back and, surprisingly for him, looking a bit abashed.

"Well yes, you probably passed near it without knowing what it is. It probably looked like a pillar to you. It's just behind this, um..." Margaret looked around.

"...ruined centaur village I guess. Although I wonder where those snakes came from. Must be the continent to the north of here." Pondering on average statistical probabilities, Margaret turned north and went into the jungle's thicket.

: Aye then, Lizardman can ye fly up and look around-

Barry turned around to look at Beryn.

: Oh nevermind me.

Barry turned to the rest.

: Git movin' awrite? We 'ave some god arse to kick.

: So das why the lad ain't interested in lookin' around for women.

Lucrezia's eyes widened. When Beryn stepped back, a trembling hand rose to touch her lips.

"..."
"We k-k-k-kissed."

And then she fainted.

Cetus had spotted the kiss out of the corner of his eye and chuckled slightly until Luc fainted. With a slight sigh, he quickly made his way over there and knelt down next to her.

"You might want to be a bit more careful next time Beryn. She doesn't exactly know a whole lot of stuff when it comes to this. Maybe stick to hand holding for now."

After checking over her to make sure it wasn't anything more serious, he reached into his pouch and pulled out a pack of smelling salts and waved them under Luc's nose, hoping that would do the job. Healing her would likely not do anything as she wasn't hurt per say.

"H-hey now, Luce..."

Before he could do much about the situation, Cetus was already over and chastising him. He scratched the back of his head nervously.

"I wasn't expecting the poor woman to faint, there, Cetus."

Lucrezia stirred at the presence of the salts, sitting up slightly.
"..."
"_Um."

"I'm sorry, Luce. Are you OK?"

[Sirus]

: "Is this really the right time or place to be doing that sort of thing, Beryn? We could have been attacked by more of the lamia while she was unconscious, or some other creature."
