Amberly raced after Ethan downstairs. If it hadn't been for that eye-golem she'd be gone already!

Cetus nodded, following after Ethan, though trying his best to heal those who needed it as he did. Healing while running had never been his strong point though.

Aiesha followed after Ethan, catching up fast. "Hey boss, just so you know, there's a door back there I couldn't open!  Just something to keep in mind!"

Ethan and his crew managed to get to another level; this one however was cleaner and the metal had silvery shine. Low hum echoed through the small hall and the door at the other end had several blinking lights.

Boss v2.04 was sitting on the floor and was currently re-attaching his head to its neck stump. After a bit of rummaging about, there was a thwump and a click, and he stood up, only to notice TRESSPASSERS!

"GAH! I warn you! One more step and I shall unleash my ABSOLUTE DESTRUCTIVE POWERS and obliterate half the planet to stop you!"

"Uhh, wouldn't that destroy Demura's tomb or whatever it is?"

There was a tiny moment of awkward pause.

"I will destroy half of the planet on your side of the room!" Ethan left out a huff.

"Yeah, and we will kick your ass twice before that happens. Give up!"

"GAAAH! Nope! Never! This my duty! And actually my main programming, I can't not do it! Did you try not breathing and live normally afterwards? Well I can't do without my main programming either!!"

_{"Great, another brand of crazy on my 'recently experienced' list..."}

[Swordstar]

"Uh... what do you mean by programming? And what if we told you we were told to come here by Demura but he didn't explain how to get through all these guards and stuff? But he wants us to wake him. We even have the orb he used to tell us that, right boss? _{Though I'd be fine with just leaving...}"

[Sirus]

: "Please, Mister...um, Boss, you must believe us. A message from Demura told us to come here. Your tentacled machine tried to destroy the ship we were on, and there were no centaurs here; there were snakepeople instead. Check Mister Ethan's Orb if you want proof."

[Solymr]

Barry took a step forward.

: Did ya forget what I said earlier? Cap'n, lend me that orb fer a bit...

[Haspen]

Ethan fished out the Orb of Recording and then held it out for the robot. Boss took it after a brief consideration and inspected it.

"But that's NOT what we have agreed upon in terms of re-establishing contact!"

"First, the Orb of Recording and Orb of Communication would be released from storage alcoves when a signal arrives from the espionage satellite Stella, then, under guidance of the Chief Historian of Demura Vault, a group would carry both orbs here. Kraken would let you pass, minefield would be deactived, and then you would disembark and a guide from the sentient species called the centaurs would be selected and they would-"

"WAIT wait wait! Demura Vault??"

"That's where we stored the Orbs, yes, plus a supply of laser cannons, radio-suits and other devices. If I reckon correctly, the last time I could establish radio communication with the outside, you natives have built a huge temple over it."

[Sirus]

Amberly (or her eyes, at least) looked a bit flabbergasted.

: "When did you last, er, establish contact? We knew nothing about any of this."

[Blade Master Model 42]

"Well, we're here and we have the orb of whatsit, so you may as well just let us through. Also your methods of contact ate terrble and you should feel bad."

[Swordstar]

"Wait, two orbs? And uh... what do these centaurs look like? Also what are all these... things you keep talking about? Satellites? Lasers? Radios?"

[Haspen]

"Checking!" A moment of silence passed as the Boss did absolutely nothing.

"That was one hundred twenty three of your planet's rotations ago. You call them 'years', unless you strayed from our word usage a bit. As for centaurs, they are half horses, half humanoid. Very intelligent. They have been living on these islands long before Professor DeMurray wanted to establish a monitoring base here. We have gave them few buildings above ground where they could live in."

[Swordstar]

"So... well before any of us were alive. And uh... the only thing living in those houses were half snake half humans that wanted to eat us?"

[Blade Master Model 42]

"Betcha a gold the snakepeople ate the centaurs "

[Sirus]

Amberly gave Aiesha a look and whispered into the pirate's ear:

: "Weren't there bones in that pit outside that might have belonged to horses?"
