"Well i get that. It's why I do what I do, right? But sometimes you need to worry about yourself too, right? You can't protect us if you're on the ground in a bloody heap. So it's a balance, alright?"

[GiglameshDespair]

"O-ok." she looked down bashfully. "I-I wish I c-could have b-been a healer. B-but I c-can't use magic..."

[Swordstar]

"Hey, come on now. Sure you might not be a healer, but you're really good at fighting. And if we were all healers, we wouldn't be a very useful crew, right? It's the same reason not everyone in the crew is in charge of steering the ship. You need to have a wide variety of abilities or the ship won't go anywhere. Same thing here. We need you as you are."

[GiglameshDespair]

Lucrezia flushed slightly at Cetus' comments, but smiled faintly.

"S-Still, I-I w-wish I c-could do m-magic. T-the most I c-can do is v-ventriloquism."

[Swordstar]

"Well that's a form of magic that I can't do! So you've got me beat there. It's pretty impressive, I will say that."

[Powder Miner]

:"So, Amberley! Where should we start first? Maybe that console?"

[Sirus]

: "Yes, that sounds like good place to start." The nun, smiling behind her veil, took off back the way they had come. She spoke aloud as they walked.

: "Really, this sort of job would be better suited for a properly equipped archaeology team...but we may be the only humans who will ever come here, so we better give it our best shot."

[Haspen]

The console previously operated by Lucrezia was now smoking through the edges of the buttons' depressions.

[Powder Miner]

:"Well, I AM something of an archaeologist, even if I mostly specialize in books and tomes. I just wish I had my tools."
Fer frowned as he saw the smoke.
:"Damn, that doesn't look good."
Then he inspected the console more carefully, checking for the source of the smoke and looking at what's on the screen.

[Haspen]

Suddenly, the button panel popped open, and a burst of smoke and flames followed. The screen went blank as the insides of the machine were visibly burning.

[Sirus]

: "Oh nooo." She carefully poked around at the console, trying and failing not to feel crestfallen.

: "How did this happen? Luc said it was working fine, and we weren't gone all that long."

[Powder Miner]

:"Damn. Either Lucrezia ruptured something or there's some anti-use device or something. Oh well, there are quite a few other things in here as well. There's a Domirian banner somewhere in here?"

[Sirus]

: "There was? I must have missed it." The nun didn't sound terribly interested.

[Powder Miner]

He sighed.
:"Well, look, it's a big place and already we've found a LOT of old technology, it's just tried to kill us. I'm sure if we looked around a little we'd find something."

[Sirus]

Amberly sighed, then nodded.

: "Yes, I suppose you're right. Let's keep looking around, unless you'd rather get back to the others."
