She had been given a lot to think about... even if it was embarrassing to do so.

The pair arrived at the ship, and Cetus waved to the captain.

"Boss, I'm sorry. I was in the staff shop, trying to negotiate with the owner, and Alicia was waiting outside. I figured she'd stay with me cause captain's orders and all, but when I was done, she was gone. I'm hoping she just found another member of the group but... I don't know for sure. I know I failed your orders, and I'm sorry."

Alicia, at some point rose up and started walking shipward.

((I will be out until much later tonight. But she'll obey Ethan on this one.))

"You love to crush my hopes and dreams, don't you, woman? I might as well just toss myself off the pier."

"Seriously though, the guy sounded like he meant it. We should probably get back."

Putting his hands in his robe's pockets, Fer sighed and headed off towards the ship.

"H-hello, C-Captain."

Elanore had left the bookstore, and made her way to the ship, she'd just have to hope that Stheno would arrive there shortly, but until then, she waved to those present. Except Amberly.

Barry shrugged at Beryn and went with him to where the captain was waiting.

Passing the streets while absorbed in consideration for whether she did end up taking more out on Amberly than she anticipated, she barely noticed the familiar green hood and robes flow past her moments before. With a sigh and an amused smile at them missing each other entirely she turned about and fell into step with the shaman whether she noticed her presence or not.

  "Elanore dear, we should probably walk back together."

Elanore jumped when she heard Stheno's voice right next to her, and with a slightly shaky nod of the head, she stopped walking. How unexpected
  "S-Stheno, I was hoping to meet up with you after we missed each other at the bookstore." Elanore wasn't exactly looking forward to this, but better to deal with this sooner than later.

Rather than seek to bring up Elanore's deception, Stheno used her for a much needed ear before they reached the ship.

"That Amberly woman is infuriating. I began by speaking in terms of cross-religious persecution and she opted to turn it into some kind of competition about one religious group being better or worse than others, and then has the gall to complain about herself being blamed for the actions of those in her religion."

"Not that I didn't perform in a dreadfully barbaric manner myself. After a certain revelation-" and the tone she used gave clear indication as to which she meant "-I admit to not thinking clearly and may have been associating her response with similar ones that I had have had quite enough of, to be quite honest."

"But maybe I did start making it about her religion after that. I've been in the South too long, and when all I wanted was to get away from the petty conflict in the north and practice alchemy in peace it seems to have come crashing down on my head in the most spectacular manner." She stopped being dour and chuckled a bit when she enunciated that twist of fate. Maybe there were beings in control of a greater destiny.

Ethan took a deep breath.

"Allright, so... I decided about the... whole thing. I'm gonna sail east and deliver the crystal sphere and then have a talk with Demura if it is whom he claims to be. However this might be one-way trip or worse, a very complex trap - I don't know."

"I'm gonna go either alone or with volunteers. Anyone who wants to split is welcome to do that, even my crew. I already met Alister on the way back here and he decided to leave. Those who decide to stay behind... I will give you one hundred coins and some of my personal savings. I might not need them anymore, if anything happens." He looked at all gathered, mercs or crew.

"You all speak for yourself now. And speak truly."

: Why the bloody hell would I chicken out right now? This is gonna be a great story to tell while we 'avin' a drink! Ye can count on me Cap'n!

:"Of course I'm going to come! There is unimaginably much to be learned here!"

Elanore nodded to Stheno calling Amberly infuriating, this was more familiar territory for her, until Stheno almost outright brought up her deception, though talking about the god resurrection.
  "Mmm, I understand what you mean with not wanting petty conflict. Until the revelation at the house of scholars, I was mostly okay with this job, excepting the low pay. Now though..." Elanore sighed, and shrugged.
  "You understand why I kept that information from you however, since I don't believe it's a smart thing to go around talking about resurrecting a dead god. That, and I didn't know if you would be with the group long enough for us to get to that point... For what it's worth, I'm sorry for lying, but I thought it was best kept on a need to know basis. If you disagree with that, then again, I'm sorry."

Elanore tapped her foot, while it was tempting to just cut off and run.. She took a glance up into the sky.
  "If I'm going on this trip, I'm asking for 400 gold, alongside a share of whatever loot we come across. That is assuming we survive it all."
