Beryn shook it. It wasn't polite to leave a lady hanging, especially if you just complimented her appearance.

"So, what, this is a courier job? Could be exciting I guess."

Fer frowned, and shrugged.
:"I couldn't tell you, they haven't talked to me very much. But... well, there's a lot of hatred between churches, I might put it there?"

: "I knew that already...but I never imagined just how bad it was. Thank you anyway." The nun reached out to pat the mage's arm, hesitated, then she pulled her hand back and walked away, looking troubled.

After she had been lifted down, it took the diminutive spearwoman a moment to compose herself.

"T-thank you for the ride on P-prata. M-maybe we c-can do it again a-another time?"

She patted the wyvern on its mighty muzzle and slowly drifted off, her thoughts full of flying.

Beryn turned back to Lucrezia for a moment.

"Sure thing, just ask whenever!"

"Poison, eh? Yeah, I'd rather not have that used on me. Or any of us, really."

Barry looked a bit disappointed.

: No present for me? Aw...

Barry then walked over to where Beryn and his wyvern landed.

: Aye, I saw yer an awrite fighter back dere! Me name's Barry! He extended a hand to Beryn.

Beryn took it and shook it, grinning back to the big man.

"Beryn Tannios. I could say the same! I look forward to fighting with you and yours."

"Between you in the water and me in the sky I'd say we have a battlefield pretty damn well covered top to bottom, wouldn't you say?"

: Haw! As long as there's someone so daft as to fight us instead of turnin' tail and runnin' away!

"Let's hope there's no shortage of fools, then!"

"So, I heard you guys are sailors. Or at least you answer to a captain, anyway...?"

He left it open for Baurus to elaborate, if he felt like it.

: Aye, Cap'n's that lad with green hair and big ax for as long as yer not a pirate hunter. I take it ye wanna come with us?

"I already invited myself along! As for hunting, yeah I do that, but animals, not pirates. Could be a fun time though."

"Don't worry, I can make myself useful on a ship. I've never sailed before, but I can tie knots, cook, and I'm a strong guy so I can haul stuff around if you need me to."

[Swordstar]

"Don't worry, it's not like I'll get the staffs mixed up or anything. Probably. Who knows, in the heat of battle, I could be going to heal you and accidentally grab the wrong staff..."

He grinned at her, clearly joking around.

"Oh, that so? Well, I'll have to hope that doesn't happen then. If I wind up poisoned, I might wind up loading the food with peppers whenever I'm on cooking duty, and I'm sure you don't want that." Aiesha grinned wickedly, privy to Cetus's aversion to capsaicin since very early in their mutual career.

Cetus winced and held up his hands in defeat.

"You win, you win. Should've known better than to try. Somehow I think I'm always going to lose with you."
