Wasn't there a Nayrsifact that did something like that?

Can't say. Probably.

Yeah. Sealing armor, bought by Ivan. Speaking of which, I think it might be possible to acquire from the Doctor... for research reasons, at the very least.

@Comrade P. I like your idea. I don't know how viable it is (essentially, Pimp Cane metal is as space magic as other stuff, so it might need a brain to control it), but we could look into it later.

I really want to fill brain of my current character with complex electronics. Over time. Up to the point she will regard any sort of a body as a limiting factor. Useful instrument at best.

I thought Jim's spike armour worked like that. Whatever happened to that anyway?

And, you're thinking too small. Why not make a special battlesuit-grade body for Exo specialists that is essentially a T-X terminator? Or merely a braincase surrounded by the same material with an adaptive colour changer that will allow it to morph into anything (want to run? become a 4 legged animal for the added speed. Or even make wheels or cause the material to float and fly if you have the concentration for it. Someone grabbed you? Become an urchin. etc.)

Why not? Because that would probably compete in price with AoW. I don't have nearly enough tokens for that and a little chance to earn those. But I still want something like that.

What can I say... Aux genemod is your friend. Although not the modern one (they seem to be free of side effects and the like); the older one, that turned you into a living computer (allowed interacting with computers directly, for example) - it might still be available from the Doctor, if nothing else. And I dare hope, those old-style upgrades might be able to stack with new "enhancement" ones (or at least don't interfere, as far as different upgrades go.)

This. We are really lacking in 'battlesuit department' as far as Exo users demand goes. Although I suspect it might have some very hefty requirements to operate (+3 Exo? +3 Mind?) at full capacity. And I don't think it would end up costing as much as AoW, because frankly, that thing is mind-bogglingly expensive, and now more so at 50 tokens than earlier 30.

Sorry, my bad. I meant braincase plus limbs. Some sort of tentacled thing that can fuse and combine thin limbs and the shapechanging material to form various shapes and can use the shapechanging material to add finishing touches. I think I had suggested something like that when piecewise was making the new armoury as something a Charisma character could use for infiltration. Although now that we have the halo, there is less need for that.

Hrm... have we ever been told the muzzle velocity of the gauss rifle?  And/or the mass of the normal gauss rifle round?  </totally not trying to ascertain the conversion from TPU to watts>

I don't think so. And asking that probably goes on domain of armor thickness questions.

I want this so bad and yet it'd either never be approved, be so expensive as to crest 100 tokens, or have horrendous horrendous downsides, because it's basically Xan back when he had his fleshwarping, but made of metal.

Well, not really. Your volume cannot change. You could make yourself look larger by making parts of your body empty. But on the bright side, depending on how the control works, you could summon thousands of needles and then launch them at your enemies, since you don't need the metal to be connected, you merely need it to be close enough so that you have enough willpower to control it. And you are also limited by the size of your braincase (unless you get that genemod that spreads your brain and a custom flexible braincase) so you can't fit through everything. And you need at least some mechanical limbs to take care of movement so that you don't have to expend willpower every time you want to move or make your body look like it's moving. And said limbs should be capable of fine manipulation if you also want them to take care of things like facial expressions, so parts of them at least would be very fragile. And there's also the problem that if you want to make bodies look and feel right, then you need to be able to make weak malleable parts of metal which will be able to bend like skin does, which means even more fragility.

Overall, a T-X sounds like a choice more suited for a combat character with some space magic and charisma/stealth capabilities. The other choice is more for a quick moving, sneaky, stealthy, space magicky glass cannon... which is partially what your character is, although you probably lack the dexterity and charisma to properly utilise it.

EDIT: Unless you can get away with using a proxy brain for it doing the calculations for the skin and movement, but then you just switched the problem of your brain exploding with the problem of the proxy brain exploding. Which means that thing is going to burn fuel (read "brain batteries") fast.

If it does ever come into the armory I'll be making serious considerations about it, I admit. Until then I'll be sticking with my previous plans - and buying a Pimp Cane for myself. It is a pretty good weapon for one such as myself.

Could we use the new cold material to make supercold bullets that will freeze part of the target? Could be useful for killing humans and shutting down generators or certain chemical processes despite their shielding (since, the way I understand it, the effect extends to a bubble around the material).
