Victory or Death
« on: November 18, 2014, 08:25:08 pm »

Egica, and Geniteos. Two countries, birthed together in the cauldron of dying empires, brother and sister. And, like brother and sister, they bicker, and fight. Over time, these fights grew from small skirmishes, to great, world deciding wars, battles that killed millions of men in days. As technology advances at breakneck speeds, and geopolitics become increasingly complicated, total war was imminent. These are the days of heroes. Will you be one of them?

This is an RP based off of a sort of alternate-universe World War 2. You play as a member of the armed forces of one of these two countries. The goal of this is mostly to survive the war, and perhaps get a few medals. Egica is a smaller, more technologically advanced country, similar to Germany, while Geniteos is a huge, resource rich country, a leader in the world.

The Battle of Chenkov

The war started in an instant, with Egican forces pouring over into Genitian land, routing the unprepared Genitian army and surrounding fortresses, cutting them off from supplies. Within a week, the immense Genitian army had been pushed back an average of 50 miles across the entire front, and taken tens of thousands of casualties. When the Egican army reached the small city of Chenkov, they found rested, refitted units of the Genitian army, dug in and prepared for a battle. Across the front, the Egican order of battle stayed constant at 3 million men, along with a handful of highly trained Fulzer tank units, punching holes in the Genitian line. At least four units of the Egican tanks were dedicated to the battle, ready to tear through the Genitian positions. The Genitians numbered about 4 million across the front, and had three times more tanks then the Egicans. However, these men were much worse trained, supplied, and led, and Chenkov would be a firm decider of whether they could win against the Egicans.

30th Gelters Division, 20 Miles from Chenkov

Franz
You're standing in the small Egican camp in your battle gear, watching the men mount up. Men are climbing into trucks, putting on their helmets, and the Fulzer tanks are beginning to start up their engines. As you watch the men mount up, your Felgir, or sergeant, notices you from the back of the truck, and yells for you to mount up. You also notice Chloe, one of the somewhat rare women in the camp, and your squad sniper, climbing into the same truck.

Chloe

You're putting on your helmet, climbing into one of the troop trucks. You can hear, above you and to your left, one of the Felgirs yelling at a soldier to mount up. As you try to climb aboard, one of the men, sitting across from the Felgir, offers you a hand.

4th Interceptor Unit, Above the 30th Gelters.

Amanda

You're flying as a wingman in your Ekil, flying combat air patrol over the men moving out towards Chenkov. You're on guard, watching for enemy aircraft attacking the ground forces. You're up there with at least 3 other wings, and you're in radio contact with all of them. You've heard rumors that the rest of the squadron is escorting bombers headed to Chenkov.

25th Rustov Division, Outskirts of Chenkov.

Vladimir

You and your platoon are dug in, positioned in a house on the outskirts of Chenkov. You're got about 15 men, and you're the second line of defense, holding on to kill the Egicans when they break the first line. You've got one radio to communicate with command, and you know the Egicans will be here by the end of the hour, at least.

GSD Sopstov, Docked in Chenkov Harbor

Vasily

You're sitting, playing cards, below deck on the Sopstov. Everyone at the table is slightly tense, knowing that the Egicans may be in the city before the ship casts off, but you trust your officers to know when to stop rearming and cast off.

Order some men to pile up snow as a makeshift barrier between us and the attackers.

So.... Anybody know when we are shipping off? I don't want to die before I get to test my skills in battle and do my deed for my nation.... Be kinda pointless to just die for sitting here without ever getting to fire a shell into enemy lines ya know?

Accept the hand, and get into the truck. Talk to people to find out if they know where we'll be sent. Generally aquatint myself with people.

The Battle of Chenkov

30th Gelters Division, 10 Miles from Chenkov Outskirts

Franz

You quickly run over to the truck, jumping in, and take a seat. Most of the others seem slightly nervous about going into battle, as usual, but they're ready, having fought the Genitians for the past few weeks.

Chloe

You climb into the truck, and ask around, wondering if anyone knows where you're being sent. The sergeant looks up from checking his rifle, and speaks.

"We're punching straight through to Chenkov center with the rest of the 30th and the 1st and 3rd Fulzers."

You nod, and chat with the others for the next 30 minutes or so, as the trucks close in on the city.

4th Interceptor Unit, Above the 30th Gelters.

Amanda

You continue watching for enemy planes, and, after a boring 30 minutes or so, you notice a few specks off in the distance, flying towards you and the ground troops.

25th Rustov Division, Outskirts of Chenkov.

Vladimir

Unfortunately, the Egicans did not invade during winter, so there isn't any snow, currently. However, a few of the men pull out entrenching tools, and after 30 minutes, you have a somewhat decent wall, made of packed dirt, that could probably stop a few bullets.

GSD Sopstov, Docked in Chenkov Harbor.

Vasily

You ask the others at the table if they know when the ship will be casting off. One of them, an officer, speaks up, and says you'll probably leave in an hour or two. After 30 minutes, you finish up the game, and head above deck. You notice small dirt clouds, likely kicked up by the Egicans, heading towards Chenkov.

Order my men to reinforce the trench with boards and make a good spot for the shooters. Do we have anyone with a machine gun? If so, order him to set up the best position and try to suppress the attackers. Also, prepare grenades for easy access.
