I'll probably draw all starting 7, if this bloodline goes on long enough.

Should we put up a poll for the Inn name?  I vote for "The Hawk Blocker" in honor of our glorious founder.

Beat me to the punch I think we should all pick our two favorite pub name.

The Charlatan's Retreat (I like it because it references both where charlatan's go to unwind and a charlatan skipping town)

Edit: Actually if we just pick one pub name and have two votes each it should take care of the problem of people voting for their own.

Yes, let's do that.

Again, "The Hawk Blocker"

I kinda like "The Pickled Plum."

You go to a bar to get pickled, and it looks like our primary booze staple is going to be plum brandy for the forseeable future.

I'd like to post the poll before I go off to bed so let's say ten minutes from this post for any late entries into the Pub naming

Our names:

1. The Charlatan's Retreat

2. The Hawk Blocker

3. The Pickled Plum

Third Journal Entry of Koreg Hawkblockades Slate 14
The floor is nearly done. HugoLuman is beginning to make furniture. Gods I want a bed to sleep in. It's maddening out here in the open. I hate how these damned trees tower over us. Plus in the gray hours of the early morning and evening the damned mosquitoes come out in swarms, they're driving HugoLuman crazy. It's not just mosquitoes out here anymore.

My experience with animals is limited but I'm confident a group of angry dwarves can kill a few wolves. I've told everyone to keep an eye out for any sort of disturbance. After the pub comes in we'll build HugoLugman's house, she's made all of our progress thusfar possible and I've always believed one good turn deserves another. Then I think we'll begin farming or mining. As it turns out Wierd is not in fact a farmer of any kind, it would seem herbalism simply entails knowing what plants are and the best means of their collection. Normally I would be panicked at the prospect of being without food but the plum and cherry trees are absolutely gargantuan and their yield should meet all of our needs. Our travel rations will last until then.

Hurrah, more usefulness! It makes me glad to know how much I helped in the beginning, until I died the first time the fort needed something living axed :P

I'd say it balances out because until a barracks is built you and the miner are the only people who won't be unarmed if they're attacked.

Why is the front door of the Tavern open right into the river?  That doesn't seem aesthetically prudent.

If anything it was aesthetically overambitious. I'm adding a small footbridge to the door and I think I'll add some more off to the side as part of the road network leading to the properties north of the brook.

Just out of curiosity, what is the desired course of action when the dwarven trade liason starts getting insistent about selecting a baron?

Also, having a population a net-worth greater than certain thresholds will also destroy the village status. At what point do we start "4-F'ing" migrants?

Does the fort have to be kept at village status? I assumed that's just to differentiate the fort from communal Fortresses.

The backstory was that it was for tax evasion purposes. That means "Legal definitions". ;)
