Actually, I'm changing my starter too. There are other dragons and flying types I want to use, and I really, really don't want to double up on weaknesses.

Spoiler: new star-ter (click to show/hide)

Good plan, in my opinion. :P Noibat starts really slow, and Staryu/Starmie is a really robust Pokemon.

I read somewhere that if a cat falls more than 11 stories, it instinctively flares its legs out to increase air resistance. This slows it down enough to stick the landing with relatively minor injuries. In Dwarf Fortress, apparently, cats don't do that.

Noibat would probably have a chance in round 1 because of Outrage, but then he'd be useless until round 4. My only regret in switching to Staryu is that I can't think of a good nickname yet. Either they're crappy to begin with or they stop making sense once it evolves.

Argh. I just went through to plan out where to get my team and found out I could get most of my team every round. I might need to rework the lists a bit to make it so you actually have to make some choices. I'll try to get it done by Monday... I should be able to at least get the first 3 routes done by then.

Is the thread title still valid?  I might be able to join, if you need a sixth.

It definitely is. Glad to have you! I'm redoing route lists as we speak, but we don't actually need those to start. I think I can say ALLEZ CUISINE!

Er.. well, how about, "Hop on Showdown and we'll see you in the Tournaments channel. I'm Bluerobin on there too. Send me a message and we'll see how the first round goes!"

Oh, I forgot to mention, make sure to hit the Share Replay button after battles and copy the links to the thread so we can see how people did.

Me vs. Urist: http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/ou-188298309
Me vs. Culise: http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/ou-188299288

Two wins for me so far. As you'll be able to see, this first round is going to be over quickly and will probably rely on luck or good egg moves for the most part. The next rounds are where things start shaping up. At least this one's over pretty quickly.

Hm... maybe this first round shouldn't be worth as much. Eh. *shrug*

Added a link in the OP to a spreadsheet where I'll be keeping track of scores. It's here as well.

Edit: I'm adding Showdown usernames to the list of players in the OP as I see them as well.

Me v. Culise Loss.
That's what happened to me too.

EDIT: Broken, you wouldn't happen to be Broken65 on Showdown, would you?

Spoiler: Trapinch (click to show/hide)

I'm Orb370 on Showdown.

Vs Urist: http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/ou-188474274

It went as well as expected. (loss)

I'm excited we got through as many battles as we did today! I'm almost done redoing the routes, so they should be updated tomorrow.
