Declare that your horn acute angle-ness makes you clearly the only one with the right to own this place!

See if we can't buy some equipment with that money, armour could do with being padded out.
And it's underlings that live in dark fortresses right? If so that might be a good way to go to get geared up via grist, since as it turns out animalistic monsters don't have much in the way of property.

The dark fortress is mostly just trolls. Your friends have plenty armor.

Yeah, okay, revolution. Hestur is smiling upon you. Which is to say, you have an incredible bloodlust that can only be satiated through revolution. Bloody revolution is one of Hestur's favorite things, you've heard.

Nobody wants to join in your insurrection except Harlin and Herido, who are confused but seem to trust you.

You name your group Klandrdrendabogido, the Healing Ageless Planet. The name is much nicer in concept than in pronunciation, you think.

You declare your intentions. Nobody listens.

Time for some bandit hunting!

The current ruler is of bandit stock. You guess that's sort of bandit hunting. You now control Masterbook. In the ensuing fracas, Herido gets his arm cut off and dies.

DIALOGLOG:
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Harlin seems a little put out. You're sad about his death too, but it's not unexpected.

You talk to the Exalted flare, a human.

UGRAD: Murderer! You are a legendary hero, but those acts bring no forgiveness.

Well. You talk to the nearby rifleman, Ustres Kesmelzicab. He doesn't seem to hate you too much.

What do you do?

NOTE: derails of this nature are accepted and welcome, heheh

Kiss Herido On another thought, let's recruit that rifleman and try to keep our distance better next time we go fighting.

Also, shout that you now control the Masterbook in the middle of the closest big city that is not Masterbook. Spread that fame around.

You suddenly get the urge to kiss Herido. Ew why would you even do that. He's dead. The urge disappears.

Ustres agrees to join you. Badass 65-year-old who ain't afraid to cry get!

After a few hours of standing around and everyone grieving, Ustres speaks up.

DIALOGLOG:
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Nobody seems to care that you took over Masterbook. Oh well. You head back and someone's taken over while you were gone. Oh, that's why. The religious leader who called you a murderer earlier took over while you were gone. Hell no, that ain't gonna fly. You can take him and whatever soldiers he's brought around.

Try to take him down, assassin style! Station your friends somewhere far away from the mess, then sneak in, murder, and sprint out!

As a hero of Rage, the outrageous stunts should be our bread and butter.

Our hero of rage is dead.

Anyway, we should go and bully the leader guy and make him cry through aspect powers. Then we can return in the middle of the night for some swift katana-based retribution.

You're heart, not rage! The rage guy is laying in his own blood over there. It's starting to bother you, actually.

Hmm. That's a good idea. Let's see just how badly you can mess someone's thoughts up. This guy's no good. He has absolutely no sense of duty, easily the worst layabout you've ever seen, completely shirking his duties whenever possible. It's apalling that someone like that could be in a position of power.

He's unshakeable, though. He's crying, yes, but he's not breaking a sweat. You've given him fear at taking over the site, and he's not letting you take over despite that. Katana-based retribution it is.

Yeah, you're leader now. Again. Seriously, these leader types tend to have no combat experience at all, and for some reason cutting heads off scares people enough to yield immediately. You decide to throw away all of the corpses in your seat of power, since that's kinda gross.

You head into the dungeon to see if there are any bandits that need talking to. You ask the local chief to pay homage. She says no. Ustres shoots her in the stomach and bashes her head in with his rifle while she's unconscious from the pain.

DIALOGLOG:
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
He's sorta right. He also told you about a tomb with bandits to the southwest nearby, so you think he's going to keep up the asking. Of course, there are 36 groups vying for control of Masterbook, but you get the feeling that you've already destroyed one of them.

What do you do?

Huh, so we can't force people into yielding (without applying violence). That's... to be expected I suppose.

Ah well. I suppose it's time to either cleanse or get the loyalty of the bandit scum.

I vote saying adios to the banditos. Gotta balance out the infamy of that revolution nonsense. Neutral power and all that.

Bandit-hunting sounds fun.

BTW, how many kills we have on unbreakable katana?

13, of which 5 are dangerous beasts, 3 are wildlife, 2 are former leaders, 1 is a bandit, 1 is a soldier and 1 is a zombie.

Might as well whole-ass it. You go to the local tavern to see if there are any bandits and sure enough, there's a leader of a bandit clan there. Surprisingly predictable, these people. You ask him about his group. He says it's two people. You ask him to pay homage, since his bandit group is small. He refuses. You grab his hand and crush it, leaving it dangling by the mangled remains of his tendon. He passes out due to the pain. You wait until he wakes up to ask again. He refuses. You take out your sword. He refuses. A willing guinea pig, then. You try to make him go insane. It works. Wow, that's new. You kill him in self-defense.

You try to find the other tavern in town and some prospitian bandits ambush you along the way. Ha.

Ustres is among them. What? He attacks you and you kill him. What?

(author's note: what?)

DIALOGLOG:
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Odd. You head back to town and go to bed in your keep. When you wake up, you decide to ask a nearby axe user to travel with you, since Ustres was a bust.

DIALOGLOG:
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

You suddenly get blasted with a sort of mental message. It doesn't have words, but you understand it just fine. It basically contains a bunch of information on her soul, the exact parts you can't get to yourself. Harlin seems to have also gotten this info.

Anarli concentrates for a few seconds, then gives you both the information she obtained.

Uh.

I hope that new recruit of ours is not in one of those 36 groups vying for control of Masterbooks.

So... let's resume killing bandits, hopefully with less team-killing this time!
