Mageweaver Halls: A rogue-like dungeon crawl with conceptual magic

Magic. A chaotic, primal force. Years of study allow some to direct this energy .. To an extent. Concentrations of magic frequently result in the spontaneous appearance of dungeons, where the brave may go to further their understanding of magic.

This will be a dungeon-crawl with pseudo-ascii graphics. The focus is on mages trying to learn new Magic Concepts (words of power, basically). Semi-mages and non-mages are allowed, if you want to be boring. I'll probably only run 1-3 dungeon levels.

The magic system is based on using one or more concepts (Fire+time) to cast a spell, with a general desire of a result (Magi-Napalm over that-a-ways!). I'll roll and/or use GM whim to decide what happens. More experienced casters are more likely to get the desired results, while using more concepts will add more randomness, and probably more power.

Full casters start with 3 concepts, chosen by me based on class. You'll get more from meditating after boss-class threats. You may try to share concepts, over 24 hours, but can only truly *know* so many (based on experience and class). Trying to learn too many will result in more unpredictable spell effects. Concepts cannot normally be forgotten, so be careful.

Alright. Four players, the first to post probably get in. No waiting list.

Speaking of lowest intelligence, that reminds me of the fact that it's probably your first time in prison. Don't worry, I can give you some tips, having spent some time in a few myself. ((Still waiting on Cript about a class change, but we can get started.))

The four brave adventurers descend into the shadows of a cave. It is rather dark past the stairs, but there's a faint light coming from the east.

You may put as much mana as you want in a spell. More concepts require more mana to get much effect, but you'll usually get better results from, say, a 10 mana fire+explode spell than a 10 mana fire spell.

Use  3 + light and change to thrust the dungeon into light, then travel to the east.

Seedtypes are Manaflower and Liferoot. Manaflower gathers ambient mana and once enough is gathered, the flower turns into a manafruit. A fairly tasty and juicy manarich fruit similar in structure to a large citrus. The color and taste depends on what types of ambient mana it's absorbed or been fed. Liferoot is a vinelike plant that absorbs ambient mana. The leaves are a mild sedative and healing agent if ingested and the bulbs near the bottom of the root structure contain both additional seeds and a thick liquid that rapidly accelerates healing if ingested.

Verina uses Mutate+Nourish with 4 mp on her eyes to grow eyeshine and expand her visible spectrum into the infrared.

Cript's concepts are Stone, Fracture, and Expansion. He gets better armor.

Verina uses Mutate+Nourish with 4 mp on her eyes to grow eyeshine and expand her visible spectrum into infrared.

Verina then uses Mutate+Nourish with 3 mana to lengthen the dagger to about a longsword and harden it.

Verina then uses Nourish+Mutate with 3 mana on two Manaflower seeds to grow them into her robes, making the robes part of the flower's structure and allowing for considerably more rapid ambient mana accumulation through increased surface area.

Verina then drinks enough mana potion to fully replenish her mana or if not possible, replenish as much as possible.
Limit of 1 spell per turn under regular circumstances.
The seed packets are bundles of seeds stuck together, with some fortified dirt, perfect for throwing. I guess you could pick some off to grow separately, though.
Your dagger is dead, and you can't really mutate it as-is.

Technically it still has an intact organic structure, and that's the only thing that matters.

Editing post though.
