Off to chernobyl, there is a scientist there who grows his own crops and no one else will dare to follow you for fear of radiation death.

Unless the entire world has become like that, of course, in which case it'd be the same as going anywhere. Depends on what kind of Apocalypse.

I too can attest to the ridiculous ease at which potatoes can be grown. Quick too. I live in Plant Hardiness Zone 6 on the USDA scale, so I can even plant a second crop of certain varieties. Another alternative (though a fairly labor intensive one) is to plant the Three Sisters. The soil 'round these parts is fairly good, rain can be counted on in the season they're grown, and the yield for this is supposed to be pretty impressive. I figure I'd have to try it a few years before trouble to figure out the best way to do it (learn it before relying on it and all that) but supplemented with hunting, fishing, and looting, we'd be set.

Kohlrabi, specifically the Kossak variety, has done pretty well on my own property in the past. That might also be worth a look.

I'd worry about the sarcophagus if you head there.  Especially if the new one isn't in place by the time the apocalypse happens.

Gather food, go to attic, shoot any scavengers. Unless they're wearing the DF face on their hat, in which case asylum will be offered :P

Ah. You see, I[And the other Canadian Bay12ers] have one advantage to surviving the apocalypse no one else does.

Newfoundland.

Its a province full of enough fish to feed the reduced post apocalypse population. And every second person there is a crazy survivalist with guns and hunting experience. Plus I have enough salted crackers to last me literally forever.

Hm. I have a neighbour from Antrim, he's fond of guns. He could camp with us for a bit. Secluded, trees, our own source of cow meat and guard dogs. Given we know the neighbours, we could build a community based around my house as it is the biggest in the area, and the most strategically placed, given it's on top of a hill with only one road of access for vehicles.

I can tell too how easy is to make potatoes grow (although I can't say that they will grow enough)

Bay12 should have a symbol for identifying other bay12ers.

If society collapses, I'll wear this image on my hat.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

I think that'll do for any apocalypse plans concerning bay12. If you see it hold your fire, hehe.

If you see that symbol watch out for spinning serrated discs.

Rock fall traps would be more likely- serrated discs take a lot more effort to make in real life, unless you find them lying about, but even then making them hidden and powerful enough to kill may be difficult.

Kill?  Isnt the point to incapacitate so you can chain them up or get the XPs later?

Another reason to use a stone trap, then. Serrated discs are more likely to kill than a gunk on the head.

A gonk on the head is still pretty likely to kill, though not always immediately.

I'm not sure about my chances. At uni, I have very little food stockpiled, though I am near one of the best equipped medical centers in the country. Depending on the disaster, though, my area is likely affected by tsunamis, so that's bad. At home, I have my family and they've got plenty of food, tools, etc, but fire is a danger in that area, and on any given day of the week I'm probably not there.
