I hope this doesn't sound like a stupid thing to propose...

It's been a while since the new Plant Collection zone has been implemented, so I'm surprised Toady One still hasn't given it any official key-binding as of v40.16. I don't know if it's being discussed somewhere else already (if so, I apologise for this new thread and I'll appreciate a link) but in the meantime I'll post my own proposals here:

[l] (small letter L) is still unused in the Activity Zone menu, and it's the second letter of "plants", so it should be somewhat intuitive. [l] resembles a growing sprout too.

[p] can also be used for the Plant Collection zone type for consistency with other menus, and the Pit/Pond zone type can be re-binded to something else, like {u} (because {u} looks like a hole in the ground ). Not sure how the old/experienced DF players will like this change though.

I can't use square brackets on the u because the forum format interprets it as an underline command instead, arrrrrr

Or if it's possible, [P] (capital letter p) might be a thing too. (It'll probably conflict if the [p] menu is up, so maybe not.)



So yea, the proposed key-bindings. I'm also interested to know what other alternatives the community has been using on their own.

It's bound to "g" for me, and has been since 0.40.14. Are you using an outdated interface.txt?

Oh crap, yes. I'm sorry, I just re-downloaded Dwarf Fortress to check. It IS binded to [g]. (I feel kinda stupid now.) I've been using an older version of DF, and the Wiki page, even after saying it's been updated to v40.16, still said there's no key binding for it, hence my assumption. Many apologies!

Edit: Knight Otu just updated the keybindings on DF2014:Activity zone, if that's the one you were referring to.
