Sorry, Stabby.  I couldn't risk France invading me through you.

Or rather, you saw a juicy opportunity. I actually warned it of it last turn, and he seemed to believe me, but for some reasons though leaving his southern shore open to invasion was a good idea. Go figure.

Change Research to Radio Comms. Trade Primitive Radio to France, if I haven't already, and request permission to give it to all the other loyalist nations.

1 from 1 to Oslo

Fleet from Norwegian Sea to North Sea.

What's up with this, does it happen, or not?

Presumably it resolves on his actual turn?

Well, he was way late (and after another's turn), so I'm letting him switch his research, but not actually moving.

I got a message saying I was up, right then, without any other details, so I posted a turn.

If you don't compulsively delete messages, could you look up the time stamp for us?

Playergamer, you are up. Although, thanks to Albion (and the Orthodox Gods!) you can't invade Norway this month.

Just like in the real Cold war, Albion has as much manpower as I do. More now.

I'm not going to get into a discussion of which real-world bloc had more deployable conventional assets in Europe in 19XX, but here's how things are looking in this game right now:
I would love to discuss this. Make another thread and link to it.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)
As you can see, I'm thinking of the entire Loyalist vs. Rebel conflict, not just Albion vs. Russia. Despite the recent setback, the Rebels are only slightly behind in total units and have a significant lead in armies. Since the Rebel players have not moved yet, their actual numerical advantage in ground combat is bigger than these numbers reveal.
The lead in armies is an illusion, as your numbers show- Loyalists have both an advantage is units and army capacity. This doesn't even take into account the economy- the loyalist block has 15 IC (PIPT) to rebel 13. The only advantage still maintained by the Rebel side is the research one.

You're going to have all those advantages back by turns end though, unless your allies turn against you.

Speaking of which, at this point the turn's end research effect is not really neglible anymore.

I'm afraid I must disappoint you. I have neither the necessary time nor the interest to gather relevant sources, defend their reliability, etc. My original statement about the superior numbers of the Warsaw Pact is just the conventional wisdom where I live. It may or may not be consistent with reality. Good luck with the game!
