Can we post our turn ahead of time for expediency purposes if we don't expect anything to happen that'll make us change our minds?

That's going to end up quite confusing though.

Edit: Question I might have forgotten to ask, but France is passive unless provoked right?

I agree with Ebbor on that.

+1 this request. This game will take literal years if everyone waits their turn before posting.

That's going to end up quite confusing though.
We did something similar in Heretics of Hexland. It worked there.

I agree with Ebbor on that.
Now that you're here, do you agree to a trade/research treaty?

Potentially, yes, but if whoever does it clearly marks it as an early turn (and maybe limit to no more than two turns in advance) then it shouldn't get out of hand.

Edit:  It'll really help on the first couple turns when violence isn't as likely, and it's just infrastructure moves.

Yes. I'll not process your turn if you get invaded or something, but otherwise you still take the risk of being surprised. Also, just one turn.

On a side note, I think that the secret military project is rather useless. It costs 2 points. Locks you in a random research for the early game, and doesn't even do anything particularly usefull.

I agree.  For comparison, Enlightened will beat it out in RP value in 12 turns, then keep going from there- at half the cost.  I'd suggest dropping the cost AND allowing the user to pick the tech.

Yeah, allowing choosing the tech might be good. But don't underestimate it, it's an early start, and 12 turns is a long time. We're only at turn 17 in Haspen's game, and it's endgame already.

Haspen's game doesn't have research treaties, which are a much bigger early boost and really weigh down the benefit of it (and Enlightened.)

But that's why we're running a bigger test game, right?  It'll be interesting to see how the early moves go (especially if a few of my predictions are right on how things are going to be done.)

Mmmh, so for you've got the higher RP bonus from treaties, at 6 RP/turns. So it's still not that much. I think the game will slow down however, thanks to lower PI/turn.

Can we construct HQs in the capital?

No, the capital already count as an HQ.
