Buglist;

Tooltip/placeholder Text on parts in design view departs the edge of the screen.

One prebuild ship would be nice

A little change in color/lighting of the part if it has power would be great

Missle tubes roate correctly when in mirror, but loaders don't.

So M<         >M is the intention, but you get
      M<        <M

Missles don't fire, all systems with power and for the fun of it, all systems with a N-modul on it (including nav console) - slamming E, holding E, aiming at target, myself, the sun, nothing fires those things. Ammo supplied, too.

Power system is extremly fiddly, what was bad about the old one? Now you apperently have to hold and drag a line or it won't go around edges/into systems?

Overall I guess the main bug is that Turret and Console assosication is not in the game as it was previously, so it's impossible to assign gun 1 to console 1, since the only console is the control room, which does not seem to use associations?

Overall result so far; Sadface, it's pretty, but it doesn't work. I prefer the old ugly and working version.

edit; Old Static tiny mounts work as intended at least, but the new fixed ones and missles don't seem to?

So how is this different from Starsector and why should I prefer it to SS?

Awesome, I remember testing this AGES ago. Neat to see you back, and man, this looks WAY better. Hope to see more of this. Going through the forum was a real nostalgia trip...

The good old days. Where tacotacotaco meant being able to make a ship bigger than the default.

Anyways, I'm really excited for this. Good luck on the kickstarter.
I remember the good ole destroyinator and the balancing of turrets.
VERY happy that this is back!

It was already incredibly fun when it was just ships shooting other ships.

Oh haha I'm dumb, I thought the XNA thing only applied to the old archive.

What the heck happened to crew management?
I can't get my dudes to use the guns, and I have no goddamn idea how they're supposed to repair stuff or how I'm supposed to give them air if they can only move through tunnels.

This seems like a question you should answer for yourself by learning about the game.

Right now you wat starsector as wayward is far from having actual gameplay a player might be looking for, i would call it more a tech demo, a lot is still missing, while starsector is in a playable state.

I see starsector as being more fleet management while wayward will be more focused on yourself as a character flying inside a ship than being a *fleet* with everything that it entails.

Looks like its going on the final stretches of its kickstarter now.  Funded with two stretch goals, decently far from the third (so probably not going to hit unless it gets a surge of interest for some reason, whatever exactly the "improved combat depth" entails anyway I'm unsure of).

Looks good, but I am completely infuriated by the fact that it downloads via the launcher only. The launcher is refusing to run on my netbook(due to onboard GFX card), and my home PC does not have an internet connection.

Has anyone played this recently?  How is progress?

Looks like it is chugging along, and the apha is open.  Have not downloaded yet, myself.

rise.... Rise.... RISEEEEE from the dead!!!! Well not for no reason at least, for anyone who was somewhat interest but didnt want to invest money because they couldnt, or simply because the game fell of your radar, the dev is giving away the current devlopment build for you to test out with everything it has to offer currently, mind you it is still in heavy devlopment, there is memory leak, CPU leak ( Yeah that thing where the game use about 20% cpu but after 1 hour you realise your CPU is overheating because its running at 100% for about 15 minute ).

To quote a post higher, its chugging along and the current dev build has a lot of time to sink in with research, farming and such, and did i say its free? YES IT is so grab it< talk to your friend and please support when the game will be on early access!

I played around with the shipbuilder a few weeks ago. Lost interest because other stuff came up. Still, I thought the shipbuilder was cool.

As a heads up, the game's coming to Steam EA on 11th of February.
Here's the Steam page.
I'm very interested in it.  :D Too bad it doesn't seem to be complete yet, though. But the 'hardest' parts seem mostly done.

Oh, this looks interesting. Somehow flew under my radar, heh.

What's that about CPU leaks and the likes? Anyone knows if the new/upcoming version any more stable?
