I'm pretty sure you need to hunt on another race in order to get food. That or gather it from the local surroundings, which happens automatically.

((Oh, and spawned units do get to move the turn they're spawned if I interpret the Gm's statement correctly. If not, I don goofed))

In hindsight, I'm not completely sure about that last statement.

Confirmation would be nice.

Spawn eight Snakemen. Eight Snakemen hunt Goblins.

It was the last post of the page before this one.

I'm missing six zombies from the goblin hunt.

Also can the restless corpses only turn into level one creatures?

Can we see the combat mechanics?

How the system works?

And can we see what resources various creatures drop?

Young: Battle each other, have only five remain.

Welps: Have them kill one, and also send two to intercept the hero.

okay lets start with Kevak:

1. Your Zeds can't dig for two reasons: first they are on the first level, secondly they are first level beasts. In other words, you need to move them deeper and then they need to advance to level 3 to even be able to dig deeper.

2. Can we see the combat mechanics? - I actually prefer to keep them to myself since i dislike that people then start snooping all over them trying to find every nook and cranny to min-max abuse it and then call out to me to fix it. But if you really want to know its a simple d6-system, nothing fancy or complicated. If you want the specifics pm me.

3 And can we see what resources various creatures drop? - Use common sense and you should be able to discern what a creature can drop and what not. Its obvious that a zombie or a skeleton won't provide food, but magic. And that something fleshy provides food and souls. Basically i will let the creatures drop whatever makes most sense in that case. Note that creatures usually drop the exact amount of stuff according to the level they have. A level 1 creature will drop one of something etc. pp.

Heroes provide much more bountiful harvest. First of all a hero will provide always at least five food, plus other goodies he might carry with him.

4. tntey pay attention, your Whelps are working just like goblin newborns, slime goop and restless corpses, they can NOT be used as combat units.

The zeds can dig to the second and third level. As that was not a rule prior. Retroactively pulling a floorlevel cap out of your arse is poor GMing form. Explain all mechanics before starting a game in the future. Explain all mechanics now. Also that rule effectively stagnates the majority of the races. Not to mention the undead are literally fucked if that's a rule because of the utter lack of magic on the second floor and the minimal amount on the main floor. The first reason for being incapable of digging also makes no sense. Why in the world would races share a communal staircase? Most dungeons have multiple staircases, there is a reason for this.

Based on your habit of pulling mechanics out of your arse. I highly advise showing the mechanics for that. How do we know you aren't just making the combat up? As a GM you have broken trust with players due to the repeated arsepulling. I also suggest an actual combat system. Probably based with variable attack/defense. A D6 is not a particularly smart way to do combat. Min-Maxing is a normal thing in this kind of game. Calling out the GM on bullcrap like I'm doing right now is also normal in pretty much any game.

"Use common sense?" Is that a veiled insult I detect? Plenty of creatures are ambiguous as to what they drop. I expected gobbo whelps to drop souls for example. Did they? Nope. Insulting your players is bad form. Especially when they ask for clarification of mechanics you seem to be having difficulty explaining due to a lack of GM transparency.  Also. What the crap do slimes drop?

So what if Heros provide a harvest? That's a temporary boon. It's not a source of mana or a source of food. It isn't sustainable.

I advise being transparent with the mechanics, players only have patience for so much.

All goblin newborns become goblin whelps. Have them all claim space on the second floor. Ignore previous commands. Any leftovers will hunt for food.
