Is the major thing limiting new DF Talks the time it takes to edit them?  The actual sit down and talk part is only a couple of hours, after all.

If so, would volunteering to do editing help get more DF Talks out?

No, the main problem is scheduling those "couple hours".

I've really missed the DFTalk frequency we had a few years ago. Are there any plans to get back to a more regular schedule with those? If not is that more because of scheduling conflicts or a lack of topics to discuss?

It's a mix of all that.  We had trouble scheduling and we didn't have topics which compounded those problems I think, and now it has been long enough that it's hard to jumpstart it.  There was that emergency episode that was cobbled together, and that's the sort of future I see for it at this point.

Ahh.  I figured with them being done by Toady and Threetoe the scheduling might be easier, since they get together nearly every day anyway to work on the game.

The atmosphere changed so much after the new things have been added. Happy to see dwarves have fun in there spare time. Histories started to appeared in Fortress mode. Names for special areas are awesome!

I love to hear that you are not going to do another super long release again... and I just want to say that I have faith in you and believe that you can stick to your plans this time around. The idea of being able to play mini games within Dwarf Fortress got me really excited :p
wait mini-games will be added? does that mean playing an instrument will be similar to guitar hero?

Looking forward to yelling/talking to animals and hoping it'll eventually lead to taming/befriending animals.

Just posting to say I liked the dftalks in general. I have a long commute so I was able to entertain myself relistening to all the old ones with rainseeker and capntastic, lots of great humor.

Been re-listening to the DF Talk Podcast in celebration of the eminent release and am amazed at how much of the discussion has gotten actualized over the years. Do you think there will ever be another episode? Somehow the dev log/page and FotF can never replace, for me, the freespirited charm of Toady's ramblings. Anyways thanks for making a great podcast that I still listen to all the time to this day

I'd be willing to help aswell (also, obsesed with adventure mode) All we really need to do is gather questions, email toady and get him willing to join and chat with us for an hour or so. And someone to edit stuff. (Unfortunately, despite that fact that I stream, my mic isnt that good).

We also need someone to do a transcript.

So about VPL and avoiding "bad selections", it looks like there has to be some prioritizing? As in, "it's a job for our good stonemason, but if he's not available, there are 3 adequate dorfs"?
Perhaps prioritized both ways,  using  job priorities?
So that the building isn't built by a novice while your good stonemason is busy with a low-priority ramp, but a "block this passage before we got a trouble" high-priority wall is taken by the first dorf who can get there and get it done?

Two dimensions (urgency and skill needed), perhaps?
