any one ever played rogue? (other than me) im just asking this cause on the blocklandcentral forum (were my true aligiance lie sorry i just vist here once in a while cause im prety busy working on rtb mods) some guy made a post in of topic and mentioned DF (i credit this to qwertyuiopas for posting about it quite a bit) and he really wanted to know what a roguelike meant of course i told him but it got me thinking there is not that much in common in rogue its only in a cave and you just go down also its for high scores not just for the sake of it really most "roguelikes" are hardly close so i purpose we call DF a "DFlike" ok so whos with me?

oh and by the way im going to party at the lead barel!

(if you want rogue go to www.blocklandcentral.com  scroll down to the bottom in other or whatever its called under rougelikes i posted a down load)

edit: ok its in media/video games/roguelike thats at the bottom

editagain: you go to comunity after you clicky the linky (which you will! Guld'AN compels thy!)

We're all nerds here. Admittedly varying degrees of nerd, but still nerds.

Exactly. Nerdiness is a linear scale, ranging from "Dumb jock" to "Uberhaxxorz." I'd say the vast majority of us here at Bay 12 Games are somewhere toward the nerdy side.

All I can say is this, Congratulation, This story is happy end! Being the wise and courageous knight that you are, you feel strongth welling your body. Return to the start point! Challenge again!
Further, this room is not an illusion and is most certain not a trap devised by Satan. Still, go ahead dauntlessly and make rapid progress any how!

Anyone who can name what game these quotes are from wins 2000 dwarfy points.

Without even searching: Ghosts and Goblins.  Man, that game was grueling.  If not for emulator save-states I would have never seen the words myself.

I spent a large chunk of my child hood try to beat that game   :(
I never did beat it, i just remember my friend pulling up a screen shot of the ending from some website and I laughed unendingly. Almost as good as all your base are belong to us and better in a way because not as many people know about it. Any how all I was really trying to say is congrats Toady, certainly well deserved. DF Should win an award for being the most origonal thing ever, is there a million dollar prize out there for that?

Here's the logo... didn't come out as well as I hoped because text manipulation is painful in Gimp.

Hmm... UBB Code doesn't seem to like really long image links. Try this instead.

Okay, I've put up the image on the links page.

I've also changed around the page a bit...  I even threw some print magazines up there.  I normally don't like them, but if a magazine'll print an article on DF, well, that speaks to character!  I guess.  I also deleted the german wiki link since it was downloading some sort of file for me, but if it was fine, let me know and I can put it back.

I've also changed dev_next a bit while I was at it, but I guess it won't be anything new to people that have been keeping up.
