Check the batteries and then we're off to cut down a tree!
Unsure of which tool to bring, you take both of them with you, brandishing the buzzsaw menacingly as you storm out the front door.
The tree becomes to sway noticeably when you leave the building. As you approach it, its lower sections unfold and unravel, lifting the tree up from the ground, leaving a small pit where its roots once sank.
The tree utters a low growl along with some barely recognizable words.
"You intend to chop me down? You are a fool! Nature will rise against you!"Several foot-tall shrubs pop up from the beneath the ground at your feet, accompanied by a golden mist. You smell sawdust and the characteristic scent of burning wood.
...
Go and find the tree.
You leave the hall and approach the door, only to notice through a window (whose blinds have been opened since you entered) that the tree is in motion. Curious, you peek out the door to find a woman with a battery-powered buzzsaw revving it up, surrounded by tiny saplings.

Hm... such a pity, well, sidetracking time.
Go into the room, poke the crewman, and check is the computer consoles control anything.
[2+1] Poking the crewman does nothing, although you use the spear to move the body and position it towards the door-hatch to where the other crewmen fled, just in case you need it as a shield.
[4] The consoles control a targeting computer! Well, one of them, at least. You could destroy it now, or perhaps sabotage it in a way. You'd probably need somebody smarter than you to manipulate it, though. (Will incur a -1 penalty due to the complexity of hacking.)
Through the hatch into the next room, you catch a glimpse of a crewman poking his head out along with a laser rifle. The crewman fires, then retreats, (4-2) vaporizing a thin column of droplets but otherwise harming nothing, not even the body you strategically placed as a shield.
