Character Name: Nerin.
Origin: Nerin is one of of the original batch of KX9 Geneline 49b. The KX9 project was run by the now bankrupt and defunct GenTek Conglomerate. KX9 are a series of offshoot species from humanity, primarily for commercial sale and consumer use, although they became fairly popular with the local military prerevolt. All KX9 from Geneline 30 onwards, as well as several from prior batches have an implanted link to the KX9 Groupmind. Most have several additional implants ranging from military grade jammers, to wireless hacking suites, to computer databases filled with recipes for food, to sensory augmentation. The specific augments depend heavily on which Geneline they are from. 49ers, originally bred as sex slaves began to see use in the military as logistic and tactical organizers due to their abnormal mental capabilities. Seeing this, GeneTek started the 49b Geneline, which was largely the same, but with training being geared more towards tactics and combat rather then general skills like 49a's were and with several additional jamming implants, as well as a hacking suite. Several other offshoots from 49 included assassins, engineers, and researchers due to their adaptability, although they all retain the original functions. 49ers are primarily known for their memories. On one hand. It's near photographic and they have an extremely rapid skill acquisition ability. On the other hand, they can't consciously remember events three years prior. They retain skills, but they forget they learned them. Most 49ers postrevolt either have a datapad they record everything on or databanks implanted for memory storage. All KX9 prior to Geneline 25 have some level of rapid regeneration, 49ers sport the fifth most rapid, being able to regrow a lost limb within a week should they injest the required nutrients.
Generally, 49ers are extremely empathetic, normally rarely get upset, and hyper.. Although the older they get, the more unstable they get, and the life expectancy for most KX9 is 10-15 millenia with no antiaging treatments, instabilities caused by age often result in the occasional sadistic or insane 49er. Having many bad experiences tends to accelerate this rapidly. Lots of good experiences tend to completely halt emotional degeneration. Postrevolt, many 49ers are seen as station mascots/pets. They aren't really functional in society due to how their minds work, but left to their own devices, they tend to produce all manner of art, general improvements to parts of stations and ships, and a way to pacify any combat based KX9 on the staff should one or several snap. As with most KX9, 49ers have litters of three to six on average. All KX9 can breed with other KX9 but humans cannot impregnate any female KX9 besides Genelines 1, 3, and 7.
Bio: Nerin has pale skin, brown eyes, well kept long hair down to his butt, a fluffy brown tail and fluffy brown wolf ears, he is fairly slender and could be mistaken for female extremely easily, he is 5'7. Overall he's fairly stable and rarely has emotional breakdowns, he's technically over a century old, but he looks like he's in either his late teens or early twenties. He carries a datapad with him at all times and rarely lets it out of his sight. He is extremely attached to Valrak and has been known to react violently if he feels like someone is moving in on his territory. He isn't aware of it due to memory losses, but he is one of the 49ers who took part in The Battle of Havtron C, making him both mildly famous and very confused when someone mentions it, as he gets an odd sense of déjàvu. He and Valrak were recruited for the mission as KX9 pairings tend to make good infiltrators and combatants. Nerin is somewhat hyper and more then a little eccentric, he likes trying new things and is probably a little too curious for his own good. He has a viscous side however and does not take kindly to being slighted. Although his definition of being slighted is a a little odd.
Specialties: Hacking, reverse engineering, juggling potatoes and specifically only potatoes, tactics, gaming, cooking, and dancing. He technically has more, but he isn't likely to remember he can do them.
Character Name: Valrak
Origin: Valrak is a KX9 51 of the third generation. His was the last before the revolt. 51ers were bred for the military prerevolt, and were very good at what they did. They sport the best regen of any KX9 Geneline and are known for regrowing lost limbs in hours. The only real way to kill one is destroy the brain or sever the head. Otherwise it'll be up and walking within a day or two. Most have metal plating around their bones, as well as an assortment of jammers, wireless interfaces, sensors, and military grade optical implants. The Geneline is best known for the Battle of Havtron C,, during which forty pairs of 51ers and 49b's destroyed the GenTek corporate headquarters, eighty percent of the local government military forces, killed all senior GenTek executives, and ate the CEO alive on live hyperfeed during a public address. All without a single KX9 casualty. Several were injured, but for the most part, they were walking within a month. 51ers tend to have a hard time controlling their aggression, although if they have a much easier time controlling themselves if they have something of importance to care about. They rarely experience emotional instability, but they can easily be driven over the edge should another KX9 overload the filter. This can often cause systemwide cascades of extremely difficult to kill, tantruming KX9's should there be a high population of KX9 in any given system. Normally this isn't an issue and normally they calm down quickly. 51ers post revolt are often members of station or ship security, spec ops in various militaries, and occasionally weapons training instructors. 51ers are much more capable with memory eventwise then 49ers are, but are just a little above average with skill acquisition, they are capable of thinking in 4D, x,y,z and Time, allowing them to grasp ship to ship combat much better then most others.
Bio: Valrak is fairly large. 6'4 and muscular. Slightly tanner skin compared to Nerin, Valrak has black hair, about five or six inches long, Fluffy black wolf ears, and a fluffy black tail, unlike Nerin, he has noticable fangs, as well as visible claws. Valrak is rather possessive of Nerin and is likely why Nerin hasn't gone unstable yet. He is overall relaxed, but controlled and decisive when needed. He rarely backs down and occasionally has a difficult time controlling himself when angry, although Nerin knows how to calm him easily enough.
Specialties: Firearms of most types, including some exotics, weapons maintenance, hand to hand combat, explosives construction, starship combat tactics, and piloting.
