Character Name: Agent F (Ferdinant,Fred,...,*)
Origin: Medical miracle turned bioweapon turned torture device turned sentient
Bio:

When first discovered, Agent F was regarded as little more than yet another exotic fungus. It was only after routine research on some test animals found that it had spread (harmlessly) , through most of the tissues of one of the subjects, that is was regarded as anything else than a curiosity.

Research progressed fast, and soon the it was used as a delivery agent for medicine, or to aid the healing process of those heavily injured. Like many species of fungus, it lived primarly on bacteria, doing no harm to it's host.

However, the team was, for unknown reasons, sold off, and the project ended up in less ethical hands. Seeing a way to create a deadly biological weapon, insane masterminds modified the fungus, crossing it with another, more deadly design. While still appearing mostly harmless, a more effective and aggresive method of procreation was spliced in. Where the  old fungus was only capable of vegetative procreation through Hyphae, the newer variant would, once conditions were right, deploy a massive number of spores, killing it's host in a gruesome and effective manner.

Eventualy, a particulary gruesome crime organisation got hand of the stocks, and used them to their advantage. The formation of spores could be avoided easily given the right medicine, while the healing effects were quite significant. In addition, the ability to have your enemies die a gruesome dead can be quite persuasive.

The guild was eventually contacted to deal with this menace, and while their undercover agent succeeded in uncovering their whole operation, he was captured before this was over. As a personal life insurance however, he had his mind enhanced with nano-tech, and while he died a gruesome death, the fungaloid mass picked up some of his memories and conciousness.

Specialties: Parasitical infiltration. Relies on himself being mostly disposeable.

Give me a bit to write up something.

Also you should use"Sapient" not "sentient"

Animals are sentient.

Sapient means self aware.

@SaberToothTiger: This is probably the best 'generic human' sheet so far. Just a clarification: The Guild doesn't have any dedicated buildings on any planets. Their loyalty is to their brethren aboard the colony fleet, nothing more. I'll just take it that a Guild fleet was nearby when your character found an opportunity to get recruited.
Sure. Hal ain't got any close feelings towards buildings on a planet, he prefers dem ships.

Sentient means self-aware, you mean? Sentient basically just means conscious, which is something most higher organisms share.

Sapient implies the capacity of reason, which is what most people refer to when they refer to rational and morally accountable beings. I'd steer away from the common trope of something non-sapient becoming sapient just on its own, as that doesn't really make any sense unless the capacity for sapience was initially part of that organism.

Is he/she/it some sort of parasite? Or a disease?

Put up most of the rest. Though to be honest, you could throw it the other way and say it's crazy nanotech infecting a parasitic fungus.

I guess I took your "a sentence or two" bit literally.  I'll think on it and if there's more that needs to be added, I'll add it.

Nothing 'needs' to be added, I don't require it. But if you put a lot of work into your character you'll probably get in faster. It's just the way it goes.

If they're linked somehow (telepathically?) it's fine. If they're separate it might be problematic due to metagaming and having information one of them shouldn't have. You'll have to be more specific.

Implant based species wide psuedogroupmind prone to occasional overloads and due to the emotional instability of many members of the species actually.

That should be fine. Sorry for the delay.

Writing now~

Alsos it isn't necessarily a way to draw info from others linked in the mind.

The reason it's a psuedogroupmind is due to how they are distinctively separate, but also linked. Sorta like bubbles. Water can transfer between bubbles freely, but air cannot. Air is essentially thoughts, water is emotions. Thoughts can be sent to other minds, sorta like a highly optimized mental version of Skype with scratch and sniff sensory input/emotions underlaying. Emotions tend to flow freely. Some filters exist, but they often get overloaded and one emotional breakdown affect everyone linked to the mind that are in the system.
