((Oh right!

I never got around to announcing this because of school and a few other things, but I don't really plan to do another mission now that the original mission is done. I'm pretty much out of ideas for space-related things and I had a burst of inspiration for a fantasy-themed story, which is what I'm doing at the moment.

Happy Demon, I know you've put a lot of time and effort into fluff and stuff about your character, and I do find the world you've made to be interesting and unique. But I'm not sure if continuing this thread with what, two active people is really prudent. You could always use the character in another RtD.

I might reboot this in the future and start a new mission, but school is starting and I'm not sure about how much time I can commit to GM'ing.))

Well, I've got some ideas for missions, based on what I've seen of this setting, so if you ever need suggestions...

Also, we could use an epilogue (maybe an additional turn) on the mission. But school must always come first!

((Eh, it's not all that important, it's more like an idea dump. Though sometimes said ideas lead to other ideas, or requiring expanding upon.
So I wouldn't call it effort, it's more to pass the time. And a bit for having fun, especially with the glitter, ribbons, and tons of fluffy fluff.

But I did have a chance to refine the fluff, so maybe next time the fluff will be different.))

((I would be fine with doing general adventury stuff that doesn't involve an overarching mission.

I have some time this weekend, I'll see if I can come up with something.

Adventures still require ideas.

All that said, I may have been a little too gloomy the first time. I don't have much homework this weekend, so maybe I can do some reading and come up with something. I'm looking for interesting astrophysical phenomena to base stuff around, I read Neutron Star yesterday, so maybe something involving degenerate objects...

Nerin and Valrak are prolly going to head to KX9 space for a few things before they head out to do anything else.

Well that's part of the problem, I'm not confident I can do the kx9 justice and even if I could, I don't think I have the time to do it separately for your characters, unless everyone is going to KX9 space.

Though that does give me ideas... huehue. Do you mind if they get attacked by some Kardashev type 3 civilization? ;)

I could help with the KX9 stuff, they get rather uncanny when you get into deep KX9 space, compared to normal space which functions on radio transmission and shipborn cargo routes, most KX9 shipping is done through the Rabbithole network and most ships just chat via their groupmind implants/built in arrays rather then radio. So you end up with creepily empty and quiet areas of space if you aren't a KX9. And in a KX9 warren or denworld, complete quiet outside of vehicles and machinery, no voices. (Although occasional laughter or other noises like that. Emoting noises, just no speaking.)

I could think of a few things that could be going on in KX9 space for a pseudomission if you want help with that~ The TAHG is technically one of the more public KX9 Tests, so there are occasionally nonKX9 who watch from orbit, and it is occasionally broadcasted to humanspace in general. Everyone likes watching shit explode~ Prolly a few other things as well. Plenty of curiosities. And lets not forget there are a few characters that the KX9 would likely allow onto a denworld temporarily for cataloguing in exchange for something.

I'm not sure if I'd be up for a pseudomission, that phrase in and of itself doesn't exactly scream "creative outlet."

Pseudomission is a term for something that isn't exactly a mission but isn't exactly a bunch of random PC's scattered across the cosmos. Basically it's a reason to keep them in a general area.

As earlier established, Atlos is legally bound to make contact with thhe KX9 (as an alien scientific entity) on behalf of the Academy. After that, he might either head off to explore human space some more, or stick with the Guild (since that probably coincides with exploring human space.)

If I get what I've heard right (or read, in the Steam chat with Kevak).

The KX9 can vary from sadistic murderers to amoral scientists. Though there are also lots of other types, these are the most noticeable.
I think Valrak was one of the sadistic ones, so he'll likely destroy Nerin's a** when they decide to f*** (Steam chat).
And they do cause a fair share of destruction in their experiments (science is the ultimate goal, f*** the consequences). And sometimes the experimentation worlds have other aliens on them.
Heck, they lose a lot of resources thanks to the combination of post-scarcity and pursuit of science. Like the time they had to blow up a planet because of the shapeshifter experiment.
The KX9 are the worst thing in the universe for now. Amoral scientists with violent tendencies conducting science which has devastating consequences if it goes wrong. Which with the frequency the science is done, is about once every week.

Oh, and they assimilate races, doing economic takeovers, and being "holier than thou" jerks about it.

They eat people while they're still alive, on live broadcast. Not to mention how many lives they've f***ed up (or ended) due to improper safety precautions.

As far as I understand it, the scales are Science and Not Science, and Not Science just left town. But that's for the scientists, so f*** safety, let's make C'thulhu.
If I recall correctly, the KX9 51 were violent, if not sadistic, being the worst person to meet alone. The only thing stopping them is being mind-linked to a more passive KX9.

((The eating thing happened due to a Cascade and the entire race's pent up wraith towards GenTek.

((Frontline 51a's tend to be aggressive and don't do well with normal people. 51b's like Valrak function much better.
