I'd rather we either seat ourself just between the Frostfangs and the Wolfswood, because the Frostfangs themselves are full of dirty, uncivilized clansmen, and not the place for highborn folk such as us. Deepwood Motte could move a little further west for our convenience.

That works, too, if that's what people want to do.

Mouth of a river sound nice, and I second Last Harbor as a name for our seat.

All of the rivers I can see on the map are pretty far to the south, which kinda invalidates the cold, hard northerner schtick.  Unless we want to put our house up near the Gorge, within the Gift.  Which I'd actually be pretty happy with, to tell the truth.

Mind, we could also put ourselves near some mountain streams.  Or invent a smaller river.  Either way.

It's also relatively warm and soft compared to the rest of the North.

So, it seems to me the consensus is somewhere Northeast of Deepwood Motte, with a port/river access-anywhere from just a peck, to all the way to the gorge. Taricus wants to go South tho, it's too cold for him.

Does that sound about right?

You guys with a port facing an ocean full of Krakens, they'd send the whole Iron Fleet at you!

One assumes there could be some wide-if-short rivers in the area, and there'd still be plenty of forestation in the southern parts of the mountains and several fertile vales do exist.  Not enough good farmland to make that our main source of food, but then again, North.

The poor little kitten seems to be getting a mite cold. 


Though if it's Ironborn you want to fight, rest assured we'll still have plenty.  It's just that sometimes they won't be raiding, so we'll have to make do with the mountain clans or the foes from beyond the wall.
