You begin to look around the town, and a few of the men working under you offer to buy you a drink. You don't drink any as of this moment, but you fill a skin with ale. That'll probably be valuable later in life. As you're leaving the tavern, you notice a woman, around your age, standing outside. You walk up to her, and talk to her for a few moments. After a while, she smiles, shakes her head, and heads inside. You walk around the town, looking around, for an hour or so. There's a small tavern, and a few shops, but the only real thing of note in the town is the guardhouse. This is a garrison town, after all. It's built around the military post in the center of town, catering to the soldiers who live there.

You head back into the bar, and drink with your friends for a while. You practice restraint, and are still relatively conscious when the sergeant calls roll in the center of town.

"You'll all receive your pay in the guard post, and then we'll march back to your village. You'll be disbanded there. Any questions?"

We already have. Besides our sarge likes us so he can probably get us a low level leadership job a Guard post nearby.
